G By Guiliana — What Was I Thinking?
I bought all kinds of stuff from G when she had the TS cardigan last week. ALL of it disappointed me except the tanks with princess seams. The cardis were so lifeless and without any pop. The t-shirts with the mesh tee, while I liked the design, particularly the mesh, the t-shirt material itself is so thin and unflattering and too expensive at $60. The bleach floral vintage style jeans had too low of a rise so didn’t work on my not-so-perfect body. The luxe jacket with removable collar was actually a wonderful faux leather. However, there was no way to close the jacket, such as a zipper or buttons. The stretch garbadine pants were actually fine, but for $50? The floral stretch gabardine top looked like maternity wear and was also $50. ALL of it, except for the luxe jacket, seemed WAY overpriced. I could see myself picking up some of these items on super clearance, but not at the $50-$60 price tag. Am I just unlucky? How do others fare with G?
I just don’t know what I was thinking. I’m so mad at myself.

awwwe Mary I’m sorry to hear of your dissapointment.
I have also made poor decisions in the past and the good that came of it was being a MUCH smarter shopper.
I scrutinize all my purchases now. I fret for a while about fit and style. I look carefully at the fit on all the models. I have learned for the most part what works w/ my shape and know what to avoid.
In fashion it is a live and learn kind of thing so hopefully you got a great education and will shop smarter going forward. Try and cut yourself some slack for not knowing what you did not know. It is easy to fall for the hype.
I have not been a big fan of the G line other than some jeans I got on for less than $15. Most of her stuff looks like it belongs in the Jr.’s dept to me.

Hi sorry to hear that your purchases did not turn out to be winners. I only buy Giuliana’s jeans or bottoms and do love them. Agree with you about the tops. Those gabardine pants/joggers you purchased in the print I own in black and they are really great. Forgot what I paid but don’t think it was full price. I do like the floral print.:womanvery-happy:

I haven’t had good luck with this line at all. I’ve purchased at least a half dozen items from this line but they have all disappointed when I got them home. Giuliana is very thin and ruler-shaped so everything looks on her. I’m of average weight and have an hour glass figure. Things do not look the same when I try them on. The quality has been pretty good though, my body just doesn’t work with the way her clothes are cut.

It’s a hit and miss. The tops all hung loose and thin material that clings to the body. Seems like wearing black in all her items is safest way to go. The cardigan is ok, I kept the black. The two tops I bought to wear underneath only look good being worn underneath something. I do really like the soft pink jacket, it’s like a super long motor jacket but very nice All brands are hit and miss because my body is changing every three months. Thank you madam menopause.

just as Diane Gillman jeans run too big, her’s are too small…and expensive! What is up with these women like M. MCCarthy charging $90 for a pair of jeans? Come on.

Hi ,
Don’t be so hard on yourself.
I got the tanks w/ princess seams, the bleach floral girlfriend jeans, and the TS cardigan in white.
Tanks are good, am dissapointed in the cardigan which looks like the cheapest shiny polyester, and went up 2 sizes on the jeans knowing the girlfriend fits very differently from the boyfriend.
I have the DG embroiderd jeans but rather than giving myself a wedgie every 5 min to avoid crotch buldge diaper butt falling down around the ankles I have to roll down the waist until I figure out a solution like cutting out that back yoke. Am only keeping those because of the tall inseam.
I also tried and returned Melissa McCarthy’s embroidered jeans in rinse blue which are really stretchy, still too high waisted, came to above my ankles, and left blue dye on my skin, car seat, etc.
Cheer up!

MaryF 1962 – well I was watching the G presentation and the cardigan look cheap on the screen to me. It didn’t lay very well on the models. I was wondering why so many seem to rave about it . About two years ago I ordered a faux leather jacket and it was so cheap for the money and stunk the entire house up with the chemical smell. That was my first and last experience with G products. And it’s a shame because I like her as a person so much and wanted to like her clothes. I have had some good luck with McCarthy’s jeans but I usually wait for everything else of hers to go on sale because the price is ridiculous. I have completely stopped buying clothes on HSN unless it is Moonlight madness or sale. Also the clothes do not wash well. Everything is hand wash most of the time. Very disappointed in the HSN cloths. Once in a while I get lucky with something but not often . You are 100% correct in your disappointed. That has been my experience also and it seems across the board with all the celebrity cloths. I think if they don’t do something about their quality of material soon they are going to be losing even more customers. I now stick to jewelry, shoes and electronics and make up. #Sassy

I JUST POSTED THIS ON ANOTHER THREAD BUT THOUGHT I’D GIVE MY 2 CENTS IN THE FASHION FORUM.
RE: Iman TS
I got mine in M tall. The size cart says I should’ve ordered the L.
DO NOT GO BY THE SIZE CHART.
Here is the garment measurement chart see below which I just noticed is way way off.
Who has a 32″ waist and and a 351/2″ hip? There’s usually at least an 8-10″ between the two!
My waist is 31- ish and hips are 42- ish.
I had such a bad experience with the ponte leggings TS a few months ago that it permanently damaged me! I’ve have been terrified to try these on. If something fits so very wrong or “off” I tend to get really upset and possibly violent LOL. I’ve been waiting for some inner strength and calm so I don’t go into a four letter words tailspin if the fit is completely off for such a simple HELLO boot cut legging pant!
OK….AM GOING TO DO THIS RIGHT NOW…be right back!
If there’s a problem I’ll keep my answer short….I’m sure you understand.
HERE GOES…
Ok, I’m still alive and I didn’t throw the pants across the room…. yet.
They come to the belly button so yes there’s muffin spill.
The faux back pockets are not only useless they dig in and leave an indentation in my hips.
34″ inseam? Not quite.
The smoothing tummy panel sewn in gives NO support and is not tacked down so it rolls up and makes a ridge across the belly.
Waist band is too thin so it digs in and the tummy panel should’ve been attached from the top of the waistband not below.
Hips are roomy enough because of the side panels but the waist band just kills the look of a smooth silhouette.
If you have cellulite it will show.
Other than that I’m just going to have to wear them and see if I’m going to return or not.
Hope that helped.
