VTec Tech Support and HP Laptops
Maybe its just me, but I find it odd that there are so many reviews on the HP laptops, mentioning how great the VTec support is, and they mention the person by name (even their full name). They are mainly 1 review, reviewers also. I get the impression they are all fake, or perhaps posted by VTec employees. They sound like they are anyways.
We ordered two of the 15" HP Laptops for Christmas presents, but after reading the reviews I am already regretting it. Many reviews stating how slow it is (both the 15" and 17" which have the same Intel N3700 cpu). Yet all the TV host did was keep bragging about how fast it is, and how its the "latest" new Intel cpu, which most likely is not true.
They won’t be given until Christmas, but the reviews have me worried (like another person posted in the 17" reviews).

I have never found this type of tech support very useful at all.A lot of these “FAST” computers being promoted are yesterdays standards..

Well I had my first experience with Vtec – took forever to get through – but probably was because of the Windows 10 upgrade. I had a heck of a time upgrading to Window 10 but when I finally did – I lost my bluetooth connectivity.
After 3 phone calls to Vtec and hours on the phone, I was told about their superduper privacy program that cost $300 plus and then their oneline backup of $14 or $15 a month before they transferred me to Dell.
Dell told me sounded like a software issue and they would charge me $129 for one time fix or I could buy a year of service contract for $200 for 4 service calls…
I had been having problems with blue screen, keyboard not responding and computer shutting off/ not responding to me – to which I found out my Extended Warranty through HSN would not cover software issues..
EEEK! To wish I put in the USB slot a $10 donagle with bluetooth on it..this problem fixed. The machine had bluetooth, just wanted it to work without using the donagle.
This machine will probably end up getting wiped clean and Zorin or Ubuntu will be added as an operating system and when I can I will buy an Imac or an Apple MacBook pro…Sick of Microsoft/Windows and their buggy software.
My computer is a little over 1 year old…will be the last Windows product I ever buy.

I have a feeling that VTech and QVC’s SuperiorTech consists of four men (women) sitting in a garage or attic. Perhaps then are McAfee under one of its many names.
Either way, I will never buy a computer that has any of the any ‘tech’ attached to it.

They’re money grubbers. They just want to sell you anti-virus and malware software. It’s $350 (which you can do in payments, oh boy!). They’re salemaen. So it’s not all HSN cracks it up to be. Yes, they will help you, but then proceed to go into saleman mode. they will critsze what you have and tell you it’s not good enough. aslo, that as long as you are not “protected” t thier satiation, they will continue to SELL you each time you call. I’m calling the product maker for the first year while the device is covered. Hope I never have to call them again!

And WHO is VTec anyhow!?
If I were to purchase a computer from a channel – … I’ll call the Computer company. Not Vtec nor the qvc’s ‘Superior Tech’.
The question is : Are these Brand New Computers!?
Walmart and Best Buy are primarily selling refurbished computers now, while Microsoft upgrade every old computer to Windows 10. .. But Walmart, BB, Staples, etc. label their computers as Refurbished.
If you splash a coat of paint on old or used computers and upgrade them to Windows 10, they are not New computers.

It’s not just you! Vtec is awful and I’ve dealt with them many times. I’ve read these reviews also wondering how in the world all of these people could have great experiences when I’ve been so patient with this company and time after time have gotten horrible service!
I feel sorry for the people that don’t realize that VTEC will tell you Vipre isn’t good or the antivirus you have isn’t enough. They are there to sell you another antivirus product and I fell for this lie. A very costly one as I was so worn out trying to do the job that these lovely people should have been helping me do! They have several different products to sell and they get commission for this sneaky bait and switch. They aren’t who HSN makes them out to be. Shameful!

I must say that I haven’t had any problems with my purple HP 15.6 inch Laptop. It doesn’t run slow and my only problem is that I don’t like Cortona’s voice but I just don’t talk to her. I type her questions. I am not an employee for HP nor the V-Tech support system. I just felt I would put a little positivity on the issue. Maybe I just got lucky.:womanvery-happy:

I noticed those Same reviews. Bad identical fake reviews! There are similar results and reviews at q concerning its computers and ‘superior tech’. – fishy.

Send them back H.P. and Vteck. I’ve had trouble from the start and no real help.

I don’t know about their laptops but their desktops are extremely slow and weak. After two years mine is running like it is on dial up. I cannot wait to get rid of this thing. I’m not able to play games and I have ultra high speed internet through cable. I am going back to Dell. They were fast and strong, lasting me well over five years and never slowed down. You may want to check out HP’s warranty. I bought a printer with a 1 year warranty, used it twice and it quit picking up WiFi. They sent me a reconditioned printer that was extremely slow and noisy. After many hours on the phone, I’m getting a new printer. So they say.
