Shipping recent purchase
I put this under electronics because the item I’m wondering about is a T.V. I purchased it Saturday. I was sent a tracking number and it looks like the shipping info and everything was sent to UPS ground on Sunday at 4:30 AM. Is it normal for it to still be waiting for UPS to pick it up?
Where is the shipment coming from?
Thanks 🙂

Oooo …. if it were to somehow get here before he came home from work I could tag it with my name and fiegn ignorance …. bwaahahahaha

I would just like to see the update that says UPS picked it up. I know it takes time to get here. But it won’t if it’s not even in UPS’s possession.

Thanks. Well it’s a Christmas present for the DH. But we’re in an apt. So I can’t hide it until Christmas, lol. My only option is to grab it, throw some wrapping paper over it and stick it under the tree. He’s gonna know it’s a TV but will have no clue it’s a Samsung Curved 4k with sound bar and woofer. Haha.

Oodie – I’ve been signed with ups choice for a couple of years now. I did so because at the time, I was getting married and was ordering a lot online.
OK, so I called UPS and the automated system told me the same. That the label and shipping info were created but the T.V. is not in UPS’s possession. Told me to contact HSN.
I contacted HSN and was told the label and shipping info were created by Samsung’s warehouse. Just like Ryan said the TV is probably coming from PA.
She told me the estimated delivery is the 9th. However, UPS’s website, HSN’s website and UPS’s automated system all say Monday.
Also, the smaller items that have been shipped through SurePost and have been updated 2 or 3 times already also initially showed delivery by the 9th.
The difference is, they are smaller and are coming via SurePost ( that gets picked up and shipped by UPS and transferred to USPS for delivery.) And the TV has been shipped ground and was shipped before the other 2 items.
Idk if ground is slower than SurePost?

I have a feeling that your package will be delivered Monday. However, My Choice will give you better feedback through your e-mail as well as an approximate time. Good luck on your phone call. I have always found their customer reps to be quite helpful. Good luck……

I’m gonna call and check today.

Well that’s my point Oodie the sure post items, purchased after the ups ground item, both say initiated, picked up and in transit. And one is coming from New York.
The ups ground one is supposedly coming from PA and has said only initiated for four days without giving any indication that it was picked up. Yet that same package has delivery date for Monday.

UPS Surepost works the same as UPS but usually takes a day or two longer because the package is given to the United States Post Office for delivery. If you sign up for My Choice with UPS, they give you an idea as to when your package will be delivered. They also tell you if it will arrive through the Post Office. When it goes to the post office it means that your package is small enough to fit into your mailbox. However there are times when there are multiple things in either the box or the envelope from HSN and may be left at the door. My Choice does not cost anything and I have found it to be very helpful. Another reason why your package may seem to be delayed is that it takes time to go from one town to another or weather may be playing a larger part. Depending upon which area is the starting point and where you live can be the reason. Remember there has been severe weather and fires that may infringe upon moving your TV from point A to point B. You also can contact UPS directly. The 800 number is listed at their website or you can chat with one of their representatives. You need to copy the number of your package so they can give you the correct info.

Is ups sure post quicker than ups ground? I have 2 items shipped via sure post. These 2 items were purchased after the T.V.
They both say initiated -> picked up – > in transit.
The T.V. was ordered Saturday and still (since Sunday at 4:30 am) only says : initiated. It doesn’t indicate that it has been picked up.

Hi Rhema and welcome to the Community. From past experiences I have noticed that UPS normally does not work on the weekends and even though the shipment leaves HSN’s warehouse it could be a day or two before you see anything. Don’t fret. Just check the UPS number that was in your e-mail or go directly to your orders at HSN to check on the progress. You may also wish to sign up for UPS My Choice. It is free at their website and will give you additional info as to delivery and approximate time through e-mail on most packages (especially HSN). They also will tell you that the package may be given to the United States Post Office and to expect the delivery a day later.

Anyway. Try for your reply! 🙂

@Ryan Oic. I thought the item was scanned at the time of pickup and then scanned when received at the next drop off point.
Just trying to keep track of it because it’s a Christmas prezzie for the hubby. No way to hide it in an apt, so I’m hoping to catch it and at least cover it in wrapping so he won’t have a hint of the specifics. 😉

Lol @ Ryan

Er … I marked a solution accidentally. Is there an unmark option? Lol

What I mean is, the shipping info was sent to UPS from the initial sender on Sunday at 4am. But no activity since. No indication yet that it was physically picked up by UPS from the sender.
