Samsung Galaxy SKY —- 1350 talk , 1350 Text, 1350 DATA……. dont’ seem to exist !
I bought two of the Samsung galaxy Sky tracfones from Last week’s Today’s special. One is a christmas present, and the other one I activated tonight. While the transfer process went very well, the 1350 minutes did not transfer to my new phone. My old minutes came over fine, and the tracfone representative I called insisted that my 1350 minutes is already in that grouping. I wrote down all my available minutes before I transferred the phone number and tried to explain that to him, but he refused to help.
Also, their is no additional Service Plan pin number any longer. The little blue Welcome guide card states that it will automatically be added……YEAH RIGHT !!!!!
I am now more concerned about the phone that is the Christmas present. If she doesn’t get her minutes with that phone I will really be upset.
Has anyone else had this issue ?? How did you correct it.

Well I activated my Galaxy Sky on Saturday. No issues with activation or transfer of my current minutes, data and texts, and the activation was completed within 2 minutes! I dialed the *22890 and waited well past the 24 hours and no promo minutes were added. I just contacted TracFone on their live chat on their website. She told me that the promo minutes went into the “reserve” area,(whatever that means), but she got it straightened out and added in about a minute. All is well. :smileyvery-happy:

If you’re activating a TracFone for the FIRST time on a NEW account or on an existing account with a new phone number, the 1350 is automatically added at activation. If you’re transferring minutes to the new phone, then you have to dial that *22890 to get the promotional minutes added. They should be added within 24 hours.
Although, this time for the Samsung Sky, when I dial the *22890 I get a message that says “A sim card has activated your service and updated your device’s roaming capabilities”. I’ve never received that message before, and normally my promo minutes were added right away. This time my service date advanced one year, but no promo minutes added. I hope this isn’t going to be an issue again, because it’s difficult to get it fixed. TracFone reps are clueless about this procedure, since it seems to be exclusive to HSN.
I found this out the hard way several phones ago. They sent me new sim cards and it didn’t do a thing. They really need to make this clear during the live presentations, as well as add it to the blue card. I’ve suggested that to HSN in the past, but it seems to fall on deaf ears. It would save them, TracFone, and their customers a lot of headaches.
