I think it’s pretty darned cool. And as long as I’m shopping like an addict, my Spendable Ka$h would not be around long. Hey, maybe with this program, HSN will now tell us in our account, when our SK amounts expire.
But…I only have one card…my Credit Union Visa…I’m happy, happy with it and them…and it has a rewards program.
Oh and I rarely ever return…only if it’s defective…thank goodness they don’t (yet) sell men’s clothes!

Since using the Easy Return Label gets your card charged for the return postage, IT IS a nice side benefit to have that Spendable Kash credited to you. I got an email about it a few days ago. I do use the easy return labels just for the ease of them, IF I have to return anything, which is rare. People like me that seldom return things, and with items limited to what is eligible for this program, you have to wonder how much this is going to really cost HSN…But it’s just incentive to buy more. Clever, HSN…Very clever……:smileywink:
One BIG issue tho…those dang constant reminders popping up all the time that you have spendable kash…they make me nuts!!!!!!!!!

its a perk that i will not be able to take part in.
1. this is a legal way to discriminate
2. i haven’t used hsn card in years and will not, i only use AMEX.
3. i return very little and then its only because it’s defective and i don’t get charged for the return shipping anyway.
they make a nice fortune from the interest on the hsn card. house cards are extremely profitable. so it is to their advantage to encourage use by adding perks that are only available with use of the card. some people claim they will only use the perks and pay off the card monthly, dodging the interest. but most consumers do not. hence the profitability.

I only have one credit card that I’ve had for years. It gives me cash back which I would prefer to have rather than spendable ka$h. Still think it’s a nice perk for HSN cardholders. Hopefully it won’t encourage returns.

Pipman, if you go to your account, where you have spendable kash listed, if you click on ”spendable kash” it will tell you when each amount expires. I found by accident, but it is helpful!

When I recently return some defective items the CS Rep explained to me that if it is something related to them, like a price change or some other perk we have 90 days to use that SK. If it’s for items we’ve returned and chose SK rather than a refund to our card then we have a year to use that SK.
Who can wait a year? Mine was gone the next week! -
Thank you for sharing this! I DO have an HSN card, and it is on fire this weekend!
I always love the extra flex offered with it. I did recently return an item and saw that SK amount noted in the email confirmation. I didn’t know what that meant. Now I do! I love this new benefit. Thanks, again, for posting this. -
I would rather have my s&h credited back to my card. By putting it in spendable Kash makes one shop more which is what they want. Hope it works for the best for all.

Lately I get my orders without a return label. The last 5 items that came recently did not have label.
In fact my improvements pool side carts do not. I wanted to send back a damaged one but shipping was too much. I got them on clearance for $35 or so so.

I kept it cause there was no return label

Which card gives cash back ?

I rather have my cash back.

While I appreciate the new VIP Easy Return option, I’m going to pass on an HSN credit card for now. I receive cash back from my crfedit card for all purchases. Plus I know I would just end up spending more in the long run. The return shipping credit is a great perk if you already have the card but in my case it’s not a big enough incentive to apply for the HSN card. Don’t want the ding to my credit report.

Is the entire purchase price credited as spendable cash? What do they mean when they say "An amount equal to the Easy Return charge will be credited to your account as Spendable KA$H to use on your next HSN purchase." This is confusing for me. HSN can you please clarify? Do you mean the amount of money that will cost me to return the item will be given as spendable cash and the original purchase price and shipping cost will be credited back to the credit card? That sounds too good to be true.

I certainly would never enourage anyone to carry debt on a credit card, but I like the sound of this card. I’ve often wondered with the purchases and returns I make each month, just how much am I actually spending at HSN. Getting my money back on shipping is a win for me! I’m a responsible credit card holder and pay off each month the three that I use. I’m sure my hubby would poo-poo this, but I think I’m going to do it. Maybe not all purchases, but most. Our main credit card I do get cash back and would miss out on that, but like I said, I wouldn’t use the HSN card for ALL purchases.
