No whining here
I thought I would describe a good experience I had with HSN and one of their suppliers. You can look at my other posts if you like. So, I wanted one of the guitar packages that HSN and Keith Urban were selling a few weeks ago. I wanted a specific color of the electric guitar package. I had a difficult time getting my order through on line and confirmed like I wanted it. I had to cancel and reorder multiple times and finally gave up that evening. I tried again the next morning, but with no luck. Finally a CS rep helped me get the order placed and confirmed properly. I was happy and anxious for the package to arrive, I read all the reviews and was a bit concerned due to all the negative reviews. When it arrived, all was well, or at least I thought it was. As I used it more and more I suspected there was something amiss with the amp since there was a lot of static. I contacted HSN CS and they suggested I return the whole set since they could not exchange only a part of the set. But I could not get the color I wanted. Finally, they gave me a contact number of the supplier (Ingenious Designs) here in the States. I called them, described the issue and they gave me a UPS return label and stated they would repair or replace it. After I had confirmed they received it, I emailed to get a status. Not really expecting any good news. I got a response very quickly stating that they could not repair. Instead, they would replace it with a new amp. They sent the new one by UPS second day air that same day. Wow, I was impressed. Of course it would have been better not to have the problem, but that happens.. They took care of it quickly and efficiently. Ingenious Designs did that exchange, not HSN. They have plenty of reviews on the web, not very good for the most part. But they took care of me and I never had any push back from them about not being able deal with the problem. Same with HSN, I just did not want a different finished guitar. Plus, I had proven the amp was the issue, nothing else in the package was bad. Sorry about the long post.

Have you heard the term, "give them some blue sky"? Well, I got the replacement amp yesterday. Tried it out today. It might be a tiny bit less noisy, but basically has the same noise/interference issues as the original.I also used a much higher quality cord to see if that made any difference as someone suggested. It didn’t. The noise is not very noticeable when playing, so I can deal with the problem I guess. Planning on doing some more research to see what else can be done to reduce amp noise, but basically I believe it is just cheap crap and you get what you pay for. I am still glad I got the guitar package and am enjoying it every day. I wrote Ingenious Designs about this result, we’ll see what they have to say. Guess I am whining now…

I think the title was just fine. It was or is not negative at all IMHO.

I remember reading about your amp problems. I’m so happy you got it resolved.

Goudax,
Thanks for sharing!
if you were thinking of changing the subject of your post to something that both, sounds positive instead of negative – and is more descriptive of what’s inside (for example, "great customer service from HSN") you can click that little wheelie icon in te top right corner above your post and choose "edit post".
