Have you run the NetWork Troubleshooter and if so what were the results?

bjsews, I hope you were able to get the Quantum L-500. I bought one and love, love, love it. It’s a fabulous machine. I know how you feel about sold out items, however. I am currently grieving over missing out on the Singer Futura XL-580. It’s a sewing/emboidery machine. Won’t give up my L-500 for nothing, but would love to add the Futura!

HSN took off my reply. Too bad because it had alot of good info for L-500 owners. HSN, you should have just deleted the name of the accessory I mentioned. HSN doesn’t sell anything comparable so I didn’t think it would matter.

pj3g, you’ve given a lot of valuable information. The reviews on some of the Singer models seem to have improved over the last year or so. I don’t even know why I’m interested, as I don’t sew much anymore. I have a New Home/Janome electronic machine that I bought when it first came out years ago. It works fine. I think the appeal for me is the embroidery feature. I’ve looked at the Vikings, but the prices are ranging from about $3000 to $10,000. Not in my price range. So, I’ve been paying a little more attention to the Singer. I can see so many fun things that I could do with the embroidery feature. We have our first grandchild coming in the Spring, and I could really make some of the cutest clothes. I bet the machines will be back, with some great prices during the Winter, when sales slow down.

bjsews, just thought I would pass this along. I don’t know what HSN’s package deal was on the L-500, but Amazon has it for $999, free shipping. I’m sure you’ve already checked it out, but thought I would pass this along anyway.
I was really tempted by Futura that was on Monday, for $599. I wasn’t sure, as I’m still on the fence about Singer machines. Now, it’s $899. Oh well, maybe there will be another deal in the Spring.

Thanks so much for answering my post. I found a forum online where they talk about this sewing machine selling on HSN last Jan. for $700. It was a special for the day. Fingers crossed HSN and Singer do something similar this Jan! =p>

When I went through the online contact information pages (scroll to the bottom and click on Give us your feedback – the link is just above the images of the HSN credit cards) I found an appropriate link to ask if they were going to get a product back in stock. I got a reply, but they did not answer about that specific item. I guess it depends if the mfg has more, the price they can negotiate and demand.
As of the printed program guide I have for December 2011 there are no more Singer shows scheduled, but it seems like there are two or three each month so maybe they will get more back in stock for January.
When I miss out on an item I check the Crafts > New Arrivials pages several times a week and have been lucky to see some again except for holiday themed items.
Good luck!
