HP Officejet 5740 Wireless Printer Quit Working
HP Officejet 5740 Wireless Photo Printer, Copier, Scanner and Fax with 1-Month Instant Ink and Software 424579
I bought this printer in July. Hooked it up, did a bit of printing, no problem. In September it stopped picking up WiFi. I have tried everything, it just will not work. When I get to the Wireless Setup Wizard it doesn’t pick up. I tried entering it manually. I’ve unplugged everything and reset everything. Nothing.
I have not been home these last few months due to an illness in the family so I just now had time to go through everything and try all the fixes that I could find. Can this machine be hooked up with a wire? Because that would be great. I’m not happy about it, but at least I could use it.
My other HP printer was great, never had a problem. This one lasted just over a month.

Caveat Emptor on HP products. Under their warranty you will get a Reconditioned replacement if your product is defective.
It will take approximately four hours on the phone to get your product. If they tell you they will have their supervisor call you back in a few minutes to confirm that your product is bad and they will send another, wait 15-20 minutes and call them back because they are not going to call you. You must be persistant, and record and document everything from the day you recieve your product.
When you get your used replacement product, it may or may not work so it’s a good idea to test it right away.
If your used product doesn’t work, you get to go through all of this again. At this point, I have no idea if they are going to honor their "warranty" and send another used printer, that may or may not work. Will update. :smileywink:

I had this happen to our HP printer. It seems like something wanted to print and it did not print and stopped the operation of the printer stating something was in line (queue). In windows 10 there is a screen that can fix this. Hope this helps

Call HP cust support. If they can’t fix it over the phone, they will send you out a new one. I had this happen with a different printer, and that’s what we did. It was very fast. They send out a new one, and you send the original back in the box the replacement one came in. They give you all the prepaid labels you need.
