FRUSTRATED WITH TRACFONE

I am also frustrated with TracFone.  I purchased the Galaxy S5 a year ago.  It had KitKat 4.4 installed.  Since then, everyone I know who has the Galaxy S5 with a contract have had it upgraded from 4.4 KitKat to 5.0 Lillipop and now 6.0 Marshmellow, NOT my phone.  I still only have 4.4 Kitkat.  It makes me mad that Lorie Leelan the women representing TracFone does NOT tell everyone who buy the phones (like Todays Special) that they will never get an upgrade from what they have now.  The phone I purchased last year was $499.00 and I think she or someone should make it clear that TracFone won’t  pay for any upgrades.  Tracfone simply says take it to a place like BestBuy and they will help you. NO they won’t, because they can’t fine the model number of my phone on any of their software. Samsung simply says that Tracfone Won’t pay for the upgrade.  Please, please Lorie DO SOMETHING for HSN customers who buy the expensive Tracfones and can’t get them upgraded at all.

Save *777*1# to your contacts.  It will give you your balances.  The “My Account”  app will sometimes give you that information.  Sometime the app wants you to log in, which I never do.  It will, however, give you your expiration date without logging in.  

I posted yesterday that I was having trouble retrieving my minutes etc, I decided to try again star 611 611 star, A message came up do you want to update your minuted I hit yes. Lo and behold all my min utes data, text and expiration date appeared.  I guess you just have to keep on trying. It took me 20 days to finally get the correct information.

Hi everyone! After I posted yesterday that I couldnot get my minutes on my phone only on line even after 3 phone calls. I put star 611 611 star into my phone a message came up do you want to update your minutes I pressed yes all of a sudden my minutes and expiration date was all updated. I think someone from trac fone must of been reading my complaint.  anyway all is fixed.

My problem with trac fone is not updating my minutes on my phone. I purchased minutes on august 8thbecause my current minutes would be expiring .  I have called trac fone 3 times and no one can solve the problem, If I go on line my minutes are updated and will expire august 2017. I would rather have them on my phone so I can check regularly.  My phone has my old minutes and expire 2016. I have an address for trac fone I will probably try writing  a letter with my problem and hope they answer.

To Tracfone or not to Tracfone is a very simple decision.  If you plan to use your phone a lot for talking, texting, and data usage do not even consider Tracfone.  On the other hand if you are like me and seldom use your cell phone for talking,  think that texting is backward technology ( much like a telegraph),  and are content to use wifi to be online,  then the Tracfone system is the greatest thing since night baseball…lol   Just my opinion…I always could be wrong.

Try looking up your balance online. I have to warn you, it’s confusing. Our youngest child has a TracFone which is expiring at the end of this month. TracFone was great when it was for calls and texting, but now data is important and too costly using TracFone. As you pointed out, texting BALANCE was an easy way to keep track of usage. The new app isn’t reliable. With the confusion on the usage, data limits and poor customer service, it has pushed us to add another phone to our Verizon family plan. 

I bought a TracFone and I also still have my Virgin Mobile. Virgin Mobile uses Sprint and the TracFone uses Verizon. I have found that several times I went to call a number with the Tracfone it has given me “the number you have dialed is no longer in service , I try several times then get out my Virgin mobile and it dials through and I get the number. I dont see why Verizon will call the number

Which tracphone are you speaking about? I am tempted to order the ZTE QUARD 5.5 ips android one?

Never used a tracphone and am leary about ordering this one…

I am not tech savvy.only use a desk top pc.. Have one Verizon basic cell phone,which my husband uses mostly…

Just fell kinda intimadated using it.. It is very small and flip one…

Need something easy to use. Also my pc is in a dark area of my home…

My eyes are not the best and want something that is good size. This one is 5.5 which is a pretty good size….

My problem with the app is that we cannot log in. If we go to the website we can log in with no problem. Just not thru the app. Anyone else have this problem?

I never could get mine either then found the Tracfone My Account ap in google play store.You can check it anytime using that.I just noticed you said you didn’t like the ap but the one I use is so easy.All I have to do is tap it and login in to my online account and it updates everything and can set on the screen for real time if wanted.Wondering if thats the one you don’t like.

I use Tracfone, but haven’t had that problem.
