Anyone else still getting the runaround trying to activate their new TSV Sunset tracfone
I have called tracfone, I have called two different numbers that I was advised to call by HSN. I was also advised to email HSN Cares. I was even told from them the order could not be found. From Jody at HSN Care @wireless. Really? My order is in my order history. I would send this phone back as it has been one big headache, but I transferred my old number and minutes. I just want my 1350 min, text and data I was supposed to receive. Why are you making this so difficult for me. I have spend hours on this. I am about ready to contact the BBB for false advertising, close out my account and jump ship and only watch the Q. Fix this or I am done. I don’t want any more numbers to call, I don’t want anymore email addresses to write and I dont want to speak to someone at tracfone. It is a vicious circle where everyone blames everyone else. I am so mad and frustrated. At this point, it is not worth the hassle.

But – did you transfer minutes and phone number and then have the HSN promo minutes, data, text added? What was the order and the process? Thanks!
-
I did it on line and din’t have a problem!

In-X-S:
So – can I just ask – you got the promotional minutes plus the transfer of your number and minutes that you had on an older phone? Or is this a new activation and just the promo minutes were the issue.
Can you share the number that did work?
Thanks!!

FINALLY!! I called again yesterday (the number on the blue card) and the guy said "no problem" and the minutes were on the phone within 30 seconds!!
-
No, they are separate order numbers. Thanks for the idea though.

Starmike, you said you ordered 2 tracphones. Do they both have the same order number? If so, that might be why you could get the bonus minutes on one and not the other.

Sorry. I bought a tracfone for my mom for Christmas from HSN, who was in the hospital at the time. She got moved to a nursing home and the phone ended up missing. So I’m out $100 plus I never got the $20 refund. At least my mom has been doing better, which I’ll take over losing $100 any day, but it still kind of stings.

I could have written all your posts as I am going through the same exact BS. I even emailed my whole Tracfone chat transcript to HSN customer service where Tracfone is saying I have to contact HSN to get the minutes and the response from HSN customer service was still contact Tracfone. UNBELIEVABLE!!

Since the phone is activated, I would call Tracfone back. Sometimes the newer employees there mess up. Call back and hopefully get a veteran employee. I had similar issues with them several months ago. The third employee I spoke with Straightened everything out.

Sorry you are having trouble. As others have said below did you power off the phone & restart it? My minutes showed up immediately after doing this. It said it could take up to 2 days for the minutes to show so I was pleasantly surprised they showed up so quickly. Good luck!

Starmike has already activated the phone but is having problems getting the bonus minutes, data, etc.

I agree with dynac. Type "tracfone" in the searchbar and read some of the other threads. I copied a few responses from other users and pasted the below. If none of that works, I would call HSN and ask for a supervisor. I know it is frustrating, I spent many hours on the phone and the computer with HP recently when my new printer quit working. Did you dial *22890? It’s been many years since I owned a tracfone.
"Well, I was able to resolve this myself. I contacted tracfone and did have an operator that was able to walk me through and help me out. I had to call *22890 on my new phone even though I never received a confirmation that my new phone was activated. I did read all the responses here and that did help me to resolve my own problem with activating the new phone."
"I think there might be a step missing from the simplyactivate process to tell you to power off the phone and then power it back on. I know when I activated my phone a couple of months ago, I got to a point where it wanted me to dial some number to complete the activation, but I couldn’t because I wasn’t getting service on my new phone — so I couldn’t make a call. This was after the process told me to leave my phone on. I could log in to my tracfone account and see the new phone was there but I wasn’t getting the 4G icon. Since my old phone was already deactivated, I used my landline to call the simplyactivate number. The very nice person who answered told me to turn off the phone and then turn it back on. That worked."

There are a number of threads here regarding Tracfone.Just type Tracfone in the search box above the topics.Apparently this happens often.

Hi starmike,
There was another thread about these phones. You might want to look at that. I got one of these phones, but I haven’t tried to activate it yet.
