packaging suggestions… HSN uses way too much packaging
I shop at HSN a lot, and other online retailers. I really appreciated thoughtful packaging. Like, if I buy something made of glass, I know I’m going to get a box full of some kind of packing material. Hopefully! But HSN puts way too many things in big boxes with those pillow things that don’t need it. Yesterday I got a lipgloss that cost $10.50 in a box about the size of a shoe box. Seperately I got 2 pieces of jewelry that were over $100 in a bubble mailer the size of small book! Then today I get a free Lancome sample in it’s own huge box…. here’s the picture. That’s a macara primer, sample size, that came with all that packing. So wasteful!!!! Why does fragile jewelry come in a bubble mailer and mascara all packed like it’s super fragile? I have to flatten all these boxes, no one recyles cardboard… if they are big boxes I can give them away to people needing boxes for something. But all that over use of packaging costs HSN, UPS, USPS which is passed on to customers. It leaves a much larger carbon footprint than need be. It’s just wasteful any way you look at it.
