Flex Pay Denied
I have been purchasing from HSN for several years now almost always use Flex Pay. I even bought my very first laptop from HSN using Flex Pay. Yesterday I placed an order for an item that was about the same price as my laptop and decided to use Flex Pay. Today I get an email stating that they are unable to extend the Flex Pay option to me and I should call to pay for the item in full. I even used my HSN card for the Flex Pay. I do not think it is right for HSN to deny a good customer Flex Pay. I have never missed a payment or have never been late on a Flex Pay payment. I am very upset that this has happened. I have been a loyal customer to HSN and now feel as if HSN does not appreciate their customers. Nowhere could I find where it indicates Flex Pay may be denied, even the show hosts frequently state on-air how Flex Pay is available to anyone using a credit card. This item was meant as a gift for someone and they were very excited they were getting one. I always appreciated the Flex Pay option as it has allowed me to purchase items I could not pay in full upfront. Stating Flex Pay is an option anyone with a credit card can use is a very misleading statement if it can be denied. I could not find anywhere where it states Flex Pay option is subject to final approval. I feel as if HSN does not appreciate my loyalty. I guess I will have to order this item from elsewhere. I am considering filing a complaint with the BBB for making false and misleading statements about the Flex Pay option and not clearly stating subject to final approval. This is just wrong and bad customer service to a loyal shopper.

Thank you. I just was told today to wait for a flex pay letter. Like other HSN customers, I wasn’t notified about my cancelled order. I’ve shopped with HSN for years and I may have to loom for another online store. Thanks for the information.

I am disturbed by this since I was considering buying something with Flex pay. It is the only way I can afford it. I have never bought anything from them before so I don’t know.

This EXACT thing happened to me!!! When I called to talk to a rep they said on electronics you can’t flex pay your first purchase. My cars had already been charged before they cancelled it 30 min after placing my order and then it took a week for the money to be put back on my card!!! I’ve been wondering the same thing as to why the denial…. this put me off to HSN before ever getting to purchase anything

im Done with HSN, best buy has better deals and am really happy with them, HSN i will spread word how bad you guys are
-
Wow. These are disturbing stories. That’s all I’ll say for now.

I am 2 days new to HSN, and after being refeered by my brother and his wife, my wife and I decided to give Flexpay a try on a Samsung TV that was on slae last Saturday.
After the initial excitement of a sucessful order, and receiving a confirmation email. Within 30 minutes we received a cancellation email say the order had been cancelled.
Emailed customer service to see what are the qualification for Fexpay and received an email that says other than having a credit card there is no qualifications. Whats up with that?

I hear ya!! Been ordering using flex play for years!! Need a new laptop for school, took the down payment out of my checking account the next day got an email stating I was denied! Its total BS!!! Never missed a beat! Every payment on time!! Wtf?

The same thing happened to me. I am contacting the BBB and maybe the FBI for fraud if I don’t see my money back by tomorrow. Charges were deducted from my card before it was shipped. Then they got rude on the phone.

Amazing that this slick, over priced network, built on getting people to buy impulsivly charges the first payment than cancels the order. This happened to me this week for an item I put on a credit card with a purposely set low credit limit which I payoff monthly. The only reason I chose to buy from HSN was the flex pay option, otherwise I would have purchased it elsewhere since HSN is almost always notoriously higher than other online and retail outlets. Don’t be fooled by their highly polished and slick hosts. They try to make you feel like family but are well trained to sucker you in.

I have been a customer for several years with HSN using FLEXPAY on many products. On December 29, 2015 there was a special on HP Laptop, in which, I processed the order by phone. The automated system told me the FLEXPAYS scheduled and when I would receive the item. January 7th came and went and still no computer. Therefore, I decided to look at my HSN account and saw that my order was cancelled.
I called HSN Customer Service-Donelle and was really rude when I asked regarding my order. Told me to dial 800-879-2559 they would be able to help me. Needless to say, she could not tell me why it was cancelled. (01/11/2016)
01/13/ 2016 Upon receiving a letter date 12/21/15 from HSN stating that they made an Experian inquiry and that HSN decided to decline my purchase for FLEXPAY but that Experian was ‘unable to disclose, to contact Eperian’.
01/13/2016 Called Experian to find out what was going on. Was explained (Alexis) that HSN has made in inquiry, but that HSN is the one who ‘declines’ and not Experian. The representative did see I had excellent credit and that perhaps the fraud alerts may have deterred HSN from the FLEXPAY. Being a victim of fraud in the past, alerts are set up not to treat the victim as the crime victim. As HSN has done. Alexis explained that, "Someone should have called prior to cancellation and reviewing your report and verified your identification’. This did not happen.
01/13/2016 Called FLEXPAY Dept. Spoke w/Tracey (rude as well). After explaining and asking why. She rudely responded, "Ma’am it is 5:45p.m. there is no one here. You have to leave a voicemail message for a manager to call you back. We do not look at credit bureaus nor do we decline the FLEXPAY. It is EXPERIAN’. Working for credit departments I knew this was incorrect information. Therefore, I left a message on ‘someone’s voicemail’ and today is 01/15/2016 and still no calls back from a manager at the FLEXPAY Dept.
With no response, no reasoning, no explanations, no return calls, etc. is nothing new. I have contacted HSN Customer service in the past and no return calls either. I applied for an HSN CC online 2 months ago the page came up where ‘someone’ would contact me and no one has.
I will further my complaint as high as I can get them so that NO CUSTOMER will continue to go through these types of experiences. I have shopped with QVC with superb customer service, big ticket items over $600.00 on EASY PAY with no one looking at my credit report just to process EASY PAYS…same as FLEX PAYS.
Hopefully, any other customers that are having these issues will get on the bandwagon and further their complaints.

I ordered an Iphone S plus and my card was charged, I then called to make sure my order was good in which I was told yes, then I go to check the status and it says cancelled. I then talked to a rep who told me I would get a letter explaining why. Mind you this is all in one day. I now must wait three days to recieve a refund and I need that money to get a new phone ASAP. I really wish they wouldn’t have process the payment if they weren’t going to allow me to get the item. I like HSN and Im a first time customer and I have heard great reviews but this exprience was not so great.

I had troubles trying to make a purchase with PayPal credit. I got tired of the pointing figures, back and forth with hsn and PayPal I ended up at eBay and bought my items there. NO HASSELS, NO PROBLEMS!! With PayPal credit!!

Same thing happened to me, I will never shop from this company ever again. False advertising.

Well at least now I feel better and on good company. I have been a customer of HSN forever. Always used flexpay, always paid on time and always had the full amount of what I was purchasing in my account yet I buy a laptop as a Christmas present to myself and after my money is gone, after I’m all excited because I only paid .99 cents to get my computer before the holiday. I’M DENIED! Well Merry Christmas to me. If I would have been denied right there and then I would have just bought the darn thing outright. That’s okay, I’m going to stay in the holiday spirit as all you other fine folks should do and oh yeah by the way shop QVC. Thank you and Merry Christmas
