Denied for flex pay!!!
I have purchased things on flex pay but with trying to purchase a laptop with an HSN card I was denied. WHAT A JOKE! MAYBE IT’S TIME TO CUT UP THIS CARD!!!

Odd–I notice I am now referred to as “Visitor”, when I have been an HSN customer in good standing (always paid on time etc)–even last night I was called “New Member” or something like that. Maybe HSN is beginning to see me as a troublemaker for pointing out their hypocrisy?? I am liking this treatment less and less. :smileyindifferent:

Hello MaryF1962. In your case at least they gave some kind of reason–I was offered none whatever. AND I most definitely do not have “too many items” (and why should that matter as long as you’re keeping within the limit “allowed” by HSN? As you as you’re not exceeding the amount HSN itself “decided” for you, they have no reason to make such a lame excuse.)
I suggest you go to QVC or Evine. They allow flexible payments for anyone using a credit card and I have never had this problem with either of them. I also prefer the quality of their products.
And HSN_Sarah herself (speaking on behalf of HSN) has now admitted openly that flex-pay (whether to allow it or not) is decided on a “case-by-case” basis, which is definitely not mentioned in their bragging about the wonders of flex-pay. Unless you’re exceeding your “limit”, this shows that their decisions re: flex-pay are utterly arbitrary and NOT based on your past history, credit score or anything else. (Do they toss a coin or something to decide??)
Another thing: yes, you think you’ve ordered something on flex-pay only to discover that your purchase has been cancelled. (I lost a chance to buy a ring just last night because they refused to accept flex-pay on it–and I can’t tell you how inexpensive it was! There was ONE RING left, it was in my size, and I was so excited–by the time I went back to buy it, as quickly as I could–not on flex-pay, obviously–I received a notice, “You have good taste! This item is now sold out.” THANK YOU HSN, for letting someone else get that ring because you had me tied up wrangling over flex-pay!!! :catmad:) I’ve had other orders simply cancelled–why can’t HSN inform us that flex-pay has been denied (for whatever reason they’ve chosen this time!) and let US decide if we still wish to purchase it–paying the entire price at once? Surely they won’t go bankrupt that way. It’s infuriating to have an order cancelled by HSN without them offering you an option to buy it outright. In fact, it’s just plain dishonest.
YES I AM ANGRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was denied flex pay last week. They said it was because I had too many items already on flex pay. I can’t blame them. I’ve been on a bit of a shopping binge lately. I’m returning a lot of stuff which didn’t work out so hopefully they will allow me to use flex pay again. I love flex pay because I get to see things in person without the big financial committment. Without it, I wouldn’t be so eager to try stuff out.

I didn’t mean to press “spoiler”–I only meant to press :womanmad::womanmad::womanmad::womanmad:

So HSN_Sarah, you’re admitting whether you allow flex-pay is completely arbitrary? (That’s what I was thinking.) Either it should be allowed, or it should be denied–your customers shouldn’t have to “guess” which items will be approved and which will not. I thought being approved for an HSN card (which you offered me, BTW–I just agreed to apply and HSN approved it) meant that I could now use flex-pay. Obviously I was wrong. I AM NOT HAPPY!

I know exactly how you feel. I finally received an HSN card but now they won’t let me buy anything on flex-pay–no reason given. It’s insulting and if this is not quickly resolved, I will no longer be a customer here.

4 business days and the funds were not released back to my card. But that seems to be a common issue with HSN.
-
And why was the money taken off my hsn card available credit??
-
Completely ridiculous. I’ve used it several times with no issues.

I’m very sorry to hear this was denied . Flexpay is decided on an order by order basis, so this denial does not mean you are not eligible flexpay in the future. You can expect to receive a letter in the mail soon with more details on why this was not approved.
