 Interestingly, one is super inexpensive, and the other is pricey. New pavers can often be found in big-box home-improvement stores for a song. Meanwhile retaining walls require actual skilled labor, and for good reason. Start the first project yourself, and save up for the second!

Thanks for responding John.  I would not attempt to do either by myself, cause I already know that I have no idea what I’m doing.  LOL.:smileyfrustrated: The Pro’s will be doing it.  The pavers will require some serious cash.  None exist now.  First must get rid of existing concrete and grass in a wide area of my driveway and backyard.  Then I could: asphalt, concrete or pave. Where I live the cheapest material is asphalt.  Not crazy about maintaining it.  Concrete pour ok, not cheap and yes it’s gonna crack (eventually) as it all does. The stone pavers are where I’m leaning because I can swap them out on my own to maintain.

The good thing is, once it’s done, I won’t have to worry about it for a while.
