What I bought for my Brother Scan N Cut CM550DX
Good morning all you little die cutting machine oweners,
Here is what I have bought for my Brother Scan N Cut.
I bought 2 new standard tac mats
I bought 1 Middle tac mat that is inbetween the low tac and the standard tac mats. It is a bit heavier then the latter.
I think this is the one I should have used for cutting my craft foam for my stamps
I ordered a new deep cut blade. just to have an extra the one oringinally got with my machine is still in good shape after cutting those stamps from foam.
The most exciting things I order are
The sticker starter set. Got 100 designs to use in my Scan N Cut Canvas plus sticker paper laminate paper a ruler and a seam ripper used as a sticker lifter.
I already have the rhinestone starter set. Not use it yet but it is very nice.
The most exciting thing for me was the two USB sticks that I got with designs on them.
I got Model CAUSB3 Home decor Pattern Collection 75 designs
I got Model CAUSB4 3D Paper Craft Pattern Collection. 50 designs. This is the one that has all the box shapes for making boxes and designs used to dress up the boxes. Plus the paper robot. I like the different designs like a purse, a bear, a cat, rabbit, and a bird cage boxes/purses. It also has the envelopes and I do have an envelope design already in my scan n cut designs.
I have found that when scoring out my own hand made design I use cut pressure 2, and I brought my standard blade way down to zero and I did score a piece of copy printer paper. I still have to learn how to use the score lines found within my snc boarders design section. I have some really cute border designs 11 pages worth with 5 different score/cut lines with in my designs.
I will take a picture of my new designs the one that are on the back of the case that the USB sticks came in just to give you an idea. I was looking at the sizes of the boxes and these are not small they are pretty big. You can of coarse reduce them down to whatever size you would like.
Well I will go take some pictures and add them here.
Remember Keep Calm and Craft on.

Sorry for some of the glare from my flash of my camera but you get an idea. These are separate designs that one can purchase for the any of the the Brother Scan N Cuts. Everything that I mentioned here can be bought for any of the Brother Scan n Cuts

Cupatea — The 3D design cartridge looks WAAAAY cool! Have you tried making anything from it? I hadn’t thought about making boxes (and even a robot) with the Scan n Cut.
Your posts are really swaying me to make the purchase.

Hi Cupa Tea, Where do you buy all your extra’s? Thanks

Here are the pictures as promised.
Now if I do this right you are looking at 7 pictures The picture with the white paper folded is the box I created with my new usb stick. that is my practice just copy printer paper. I did not glue it together yet because I wanted you to see how it looked before I did and see the folds.
I also have pictures of a little card made from one of the designs that is already in my snc. Plus the little evelope that is also included. They are three in one picture. The little card with the sun stamp on it. then the two evelopes I made. I will tell you this I think that evelope is just a design as it comes in three parts. square for the base of the evelope the flap and a heart not shown.
Now what I did was I made two base squares by going into the design and choosing a second one from the design when I had it up.
then I added lines to the sides so that I could get a bigger pouch area. The blue one is just the two piecies with the flap glued together, so the pouch is just a little tight.
The inside of the card and outside of the card, Plus the paper that I got with the new box designs to show you how to fold out the boxes.
I was very concerned that I would have to set score line pressures and cut pressures etc. Well that is not the case to cut the box all I did was set it to my copy printer paper setttings. Use my low tac mat then but the usb into the port picked out my box reduced it down to fit my paper and hit cut.
The blade did its dance to get the score lines and then it cut out the shape of the box and was good to take off the mat start folding and glue. This is a set it and forget it idea. Just set your settings to whatever material or card stock you are using and click ok. I will tell you this these boxes are not small so you will need the bigger size card stock. I reduced the design down to fit my 8.5×11 inch paper. The design size is 9.81×9.61 I reduced it down. I scan in my paper first then lined it up and reduced it down to 7×9 or something like that.
I was shocked as to how quick it did it. I thought I would have to fiddle with it but not the case. Ok here are the pictures. If anyone has any questions and if I can answer them please do ask. I will try my best to answer them.
