Cuttlebug versus Sizzix ?
I am new to cardmaking. Can anyone tell me the different between the Cuttlebug 3 and the Sizzix Big Shot? I plan on using for both dies and embossing. I see the Cuttlebug a lot since they feature Anna Griffin frequently, but am also interested in Sizzix. Would appreciate any thoughts and insights into preferences. Thanks, Pam

peagee, I agree with everything you said and have been doing the same research. I have a Cuttlebug but it’s got some issues. I also came to the same conclussion and ordered the Sizzix Big Shot bundle that is offered on clearance right now. Can’t wait for it to get here! Anna Griffin is fine, but I’ve got enough floral things as well. Hopefully HSN will start airing more Sizzix merchandise.

Hi Pam, I don’t own a Big Shot, but over the years I have acquired a Cuttlebug, Spellbinders Grand Calibur and a Fuse. I like the Cuttlebug for embossing folders, the Grand Calibur for cutting thin dies and the Fuse for cutting the big thick dies, but I wouldn’t rate any one machine as best for all three types. I have heard some people say that they have used the big thick dies in their Cuttlebugs but I have never had the nerve to try it and wouldn’t recommend it. I’ve seen videos on the Big Shot and in my opinion for versatility, it is the one to buy. From what I’ve seen, compared to the Cuttlebug, the Big Shot will accommodate the most types and sizes of dies and folders. I really like Anna Griffin, but after years of purchasing, I feel I really dont need another flowery, feminine embossing folder or die.I love that brands like sizzix offers a varying selection of styles in their dies and folders. I hope you enjoy whichever one you choose. I saw that HSN has the smallest Big Shot on clearance, Item No. 489-849. Happy Crafting
