Curious-ever find product for $30 less elsewhere?
Cuisinart grill/griddle/press 167-149 on my wish list $69, decided to purchase it today, and lo and behold when I put it in cart, it had gone up to $99. Hadnt been on special or anything. Makes me feel as if my intelligence is insulted. I am not that loyal to spend an extra $30, so googled it and lo and behold found it at 2 places for guess what–$69. From now on I google EVERYTHING prior to purchasing at hsn. Oh and mine was free shipping!

I comparison shop all the time, whether it be on line or brick and mortar stores. Many times I have found the same or very similar things online or at the store for the same or less price. You also have to consider the cost of convenience shopping from a shopping channel. The flex pays are usually what seals the deal for me.

I have the same griddle in my favorites for a long time. It was always $99.00 regular price. I just went on sale in the past month or so, for the $69.00. I still ddin’t get it, and I did see it went back up to the original $99.00.

You mean, you didn’t google it BEFORE? Well, live and learn. To be honest, google might not be the best tool. Amazon has a good comparative shopping tool.
Not sure why your intelligence was so sore to begin with though – on HSN, things go on temporary sales then they go back up. Sales prices are not guaranteed. TS or not, anything can go on sale and sometimes dramatically so. Things could be down 50%! and then they go back up. That’s the difference between sales and clearance. Although – even with clearance, sometimes there are events and they get further %% off, for a little bit. It’s been like this for at least the 12 years Ive been shopping here – old timrs please chime in from before 2004.
You have to look carefully at what exactly you are getting on HSN and elsewhere. For example, buying electronics you typically buy older versions of things (say, they Surface tablet was 3 and there’s already 4) but sometimes the flex pays and peripherals make it an attractive deal. With clothes and jewelry – a lot of the time you are buying exclusive and you can’t buy it anywhere else and it’s awesome. With cosmetics that are sold everywhere like Lancomme oftentimes it’s an issue with flexpays but sometimes there are exclusive packages that are attractive.
You have to ask yourself, how much your time is worth. Comparison shopping may take quite a bit of time, you know.
