Crafters Companion Gemini – Sandwich Combination
Confused on the proper way to sandwich/use the plates for die cutting. I recorded all the HSN shows and have watched Sara. How she does it is different than the Gemini manual and both are still different that the youtube videos. Is there a concise written explanation as to how to use the plates to make the right sandwich? Anyone have any ideas?

Hello , your March PG has been ordered.

I tape all the shows she is on so I can rewatch them over and over. Depending on what you are cutting the plates can go in different ways. The most important thing is to 1. Never use the black soft plates on the outside ever as they could wrap around the roller and ruin them. 2. You can’t use the thick hard sided older dies (like the Tim Holtz ones). I also think she said to never use the two black ones together at one time in any sandwich. I love her products and love the Gemini. She sure does not get much time so she talks fast to try to get in as much as possible. She did however show some specific Anna Griffin dies and which sandwich combos to use for them. Such as those fat hard embossing folders A.G. had that had the interchangeable centers. For that one she had to use the metal hard plate for one of the outside plates as the 2 regular ones were too thick. If it is too thick the machine will not accept it, so you just push the reverse button and take it out. Hope that helps.

If you go to her Facebook page, I believe she has demonstration where she takes the time to explain the sandwich combinations and tips. She has to rush on HSN. They give Anna Griffin a long time, but for some reason not everyone who goes on there with their products.

Didn’t record the HSN demos, but have watched several Youtube demos with Sara stating to stack the sandwiches as in the instructions that came with our Gemini’s. There’s even a YT for Anna Griffin dies and it still seems to be the same as the manuals we rec’d.
Was kinda nervous about using my embossing pad when I read all the other fails, but so far, stacking the way the manual shows (and the Sara YT’s) I’ve not had a bit of trouble. Almost messed up once, but that was me getting them out of order, not the instructions as written, thankfully, caught it quickly and really loved that she had the ‘reverse’ button on the machine…life saver. lol

I love my Gemini!!!! I use the instructions that came with the machine, haven’t had any problems and it has cut every single one of the many brands of dies I have used.

I followed the directions in the enclosed manual and have no problems at all.

Sara goes really fast when doing presentations. ofttimes, I have followed her to the letter when watching her on tV then when received the product with manual, I found it was not the same. I have since returned the Gemini and have decided to work with my “Cut n Boss” which works just as good.
