Anna Griffin Minc Machine
Hello my fellow crafters, I ordered the Anna Griffin Minc machine this a.m. but then I got to thinking can the Minc machine also be used with Deco Foil hot melt adhesive sheets, and or Versamark embossing ink with regular foil sheets? I had just purchased a laminator, which will be returned if the Minc has the capability for the above mentioned. My laminator can do all three options, laser paper like the Minc, Deco Foil hot melt adhesive sheets and Versamark embossing ink with a regular foil sheet. I lovvve Anna’s products but like I said I don’t want to have to have two machines. Thanks

Silly me, I forgot to say does anyone know if the Minc can use the others products as well? I asked customer service but they couldn’t give me an answer, they said Anna wasn’t around to ask at the time. I asked them if they could ask Anna if she could maybe mention it on air later so we know if those are options. Love you Anna!!!

Ryan, I love Anna, always go broke when she’s on, lol. Great then I’m sure I’ll get an answer from her .
Thanks again -
My ag minc hasn’t arrived yet, but I have used yudu foil with my 12" minc with no problems. I suspect just about any transfer foil will work, its the toner that acts as a melty sort of glue. The minc is just a laminator optimized for foil.

Go and watch this YouTube video by Jennifer McGuire Ink. Type in search box at YouTube: Jennifer McGuire Ink then look for: Foil & Stamping. She has a very good step by step video on how to use your stamps for foiling. Hope this helps everyone. Jennifer also explains all the different kinds of foil you can use with the heating machine. 🙂

Also if you go to *** and click onto: the classroom there is a great video classroom with Jennifer McGuire showing foiling and also Ellen Hutson has several kinds of foiling sheets.

New to this posting procedure. This is not a reply but a question. Please forgive me if I entered this wrong. I purchased Anna’s Minc Machine. I went through all the videos I could find to include Heidi Swapp. First question, when I ran Anna’s greetings through the machine on #3, it transfer the foil to the greetings, but you could not read the words. They barely came through. What could I do to fix the problem? Second question, When removing the greetings, the foil that was left over transferred to my folder. Is that suppose to happen? I did cut the foil down to size to fit the greetings, and after searching the internet, I was able to scrub the foil off, but it wasn’t easy. Last but not least, I did not use the black toner, in watching Anna’s video, the greetings were not covered, so I assumed the greetings have the black toner on them. Is that a true statement? Help to anyone that can help me. I would deeply appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

I don’t have answers but thought I’d share my experience. I finally got to try Anna’s new Minc last night. When I first turned the machine on it smoked (that seems like a strong word) for a couple of minutes. I did not notice any bad smells. The book warned this could happen so I was not alarmed.
I printed out a sentament on my laser printer & also foiled a couple that came with Anna’s TS. All came out very nice. I used #2 setting for Anna’s pre-printed ones – I think that is what the book said to use. When I foiled Anna’s sentaments it looked just like the ones I have received in her card kits.
I plan to look for online videos (as suggested in another reply) and play more this weekend.
I do think these Minc foiling machines (Heidi Swapp & Anna Griffin) are very much like a laminator. I actually wondered if I could use it for that and might try it later.
I would say if you are not getting the results you expect – keep trying/playing. :smileyhappy:

Did you have the silver side down color side up? The color is always up when you foil. When you use glitter sheets put glitter side down. Use #5 when you glitter
When finished wash your folder and wipe with a lint free cloth. If you leave the glitter on the sheet and then foil something it will look like little pin marks on the image. I think this is one those things that takes some time to learn. Just have to play with it.
