Your "holiday" verbiage is out of control.
“Christmas” is not a dirty word. Why do you have your host’s tripping all over themselves to not dare utter that “offensive” CHRISTMAS word? It’s shameful and disgusting on your part while you rake money from CHRISTMAS shoppers, shame on you.
Only a handful of radical anti Christian crazed Lierals hell bent on the fundamental transformation of our traditional America are pushing this insanity and HSN is going out of their way to appease them and spit in the eye of their revenue source you the CHRISTMAS shopper.
What you’re doing is a real dreprssing downer. Snap out of it it’s bad business sence because after 5 minutes and 10 “holiday holiday holiday” you’ve just got to turn that crap off.
Please don’t work my brain to help advance a slimy ugly agenda.

I can understand your getting upset. CHRISTMAS is probably the most lucrative time of year for businesses, and those who celebrate it as the holiest of days want to hear “Merry Christmas” sincerely spoken, instead of “Happy Holidays.” It is not too much to ask. The majority are tired of the so-called “progressive” agenda and will turn off their TVs in protest. Thankfully, there are many other options if you’re buying CHRISTMAS gifts. If MERRY CHRISTMAS is omitted from stores you frequent online or elsewhere, just move on to another where it is happily acknowledged.

HELLO HSN Moderators. I find this post VERY offensive. Please remove it from the community. Thank you,

Sophia247, Well, aren’t you just so precious. I’m curious as to why this post offends you. Truth can sometimes hit a nerve when the arrow is pointed in your direction.

i have to weigh in on this one. Christmas is my favorite holiday. I say “Merry Christmas” to people. I have said “Happy Holidays” also, but I am not too comfortable with it. I understand the reason, as there are more than one holiday celebrated during that time.Yes I am a liberal African American woman raised in the Black Church, but I live in America and share it with peoples from all over. I will contine to say the one I like best and let others do as they will, because both are said in good will toward our fellow women, men, girls and boys. There is a lot of strife in our world and I am just trying to get along doing less damage as I can. Be Well, Luelue.
-
Really, you have to make it political by spouting off about “liberals” (which you couldn’t even spell). I could care less what the holiday is called. It’s Christmas to you, but other things to others. What does it matter?
-
I was watching hsn and did hear them using the word “Christmas” as well as “holiday”, although “holiday” was used more often. I don’t think saying holiday is any conscious attempt to appease “radical anti Christian crazed Lierals” as the OP put it. Rather, saying holiday is an acknowledgement that there is a diverse audience, some of who will be celebrating a holiday other than Christmas…i.e., Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Festivus, etc. So please be open minded.
-
As a Christian, I do celebrate the Christmas holiday but realize there are other holidays celebrated. HSN is marketing itself to a broad base here. I don’t believe it has anything to do with appeasing “Lierals” or Liberals.
Whatever your thoughts, please know that it is difficult to read and consider an opinion containing so many grammatical, spelling and punctuation errors. “Sence” is not a word. Please don’t make my brain hurt. Use the spellcheck feature. Thank you from a retired English teacher.

Please help, I’m on my phone and don’t see the cog wheel. Can you tell me where it is? Many thanks!

Pyowakit, there’s NO “WAR ON CHRISTMAS”. We should say, ” HAPPY HOLIDAYS” because we shouldn’t be ignorant of other religious and non-religious holidays. There are other holidays celebrated in December besides Christmas. Actually, I believe people (including myself) say HAPPY HOLIDAYS to respect others who are not celebrating Christmas but may observe something else. I think it’s ok to say MERRY CHRISTMAS to someone else whom you actually know that celebrates the holiday, but much damage can be done by assuming that everyone already celebrates, or should celebrate it. Also, I do believe you opened a sticky topic. Never good to question religion or politics. If so, get ready for what is served to you!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
-
We’re all entitled to our own opinion without everyone jumping all over us – especially with spelling and grammar mistakes. Seriously! Pyowakit should be able to express her/his opinion without being belittled.
From my view, HSN uses ‘Holiday’ to cover all December holidays, if a viewer say’s Merry Christmas or Happy Kwanzaa while on air the hosts reply back with the same sentiment. Happy Holidays just covers all of us out there listening.
-
I say Merry Christmas the week leading up to and during the week of Christmas. Happy Holidays is sort of a fail-safe; it covers everyone and how they worship during the season starting with Thanksgiving and going through New Years. The end goal (for me) is to express joy, peace and good tidings on everyone especially at a time when things appear to be and are, for many, bleak.
-
Thank you both for responding. I had a feeling it wasn’t on the phone. Wishing everyone a very happy holiday season, and a New Year filled with peace, prosperity, good health, and love.
-
Ok, I’m gonna eat a black crow now (meaning I made a mistake).
Pyowakit, please forgive me if I came across harsh to your opinion. Gjok made me realize I was a little rude to you. After reading Gjok statement I felt “BAD!” Please forgive me Pyowakit. Yes, it is “TRUE TO FACT” you are entitle to your opinion on a topic and I came across “BOSSY”…not good! In a way I felt like I attacked you. Calling for truce!!!!!!!!!

Here’s my 2 cents…
Can’t we wait until AFTER THANKSGIVING like I remember we use to do back in the 1800’s?
