Star Trek

I just noticed a glaring mistake on the Live Presentation about the Star Trek coin (item no. 525-872). The man in the suit is holding the Star Trek COMMUNICATOR in his hand and incorrectly refers to it as the TRICORDER. What makes this really embarrassing for HSN is that this man says he has been a Star Trek fan for years. Ouch!

I always liked Leonard Nimoy.  My guess is that Spock is on the bridge of a star ship in a different universe where no man has gone before hunting for Klingons…..Ronnie

RIP Mr. Nimoy.  Star Trek was one of my favorite shows growing up.

Probably right Snow. Besides he could get sued. So either way it’s a no win situation to not attend a fundraiser or go to a funeral of a man he knew over half a century and who made him rich and famous. Those celebrities have a tough life sometimes. Their decisions are just a bit more intricate than everyday people.

Wm Shatner is already in Florida for his commitment to a Red Cross Ball fundraiser tonight.  Hundreds of attendees have donated or purchased seats/tables to attend and the caterer, venue, music, etc. have been booked and contracted for.  Mr. Shatner himself is contract bound with few escape clauses.  He’s morally, ethically, legally and perhaps financially obligated.  Mr. Nimoy would be the first to understand.

I know I kind of contradicted myself above there but as I was thinking it wasn’t right Shatner not going to the funeral I thought of other reasons he decided not to go.

Pathetic right? It’s not a private funeral. He has a prior engagement at a fundraiser in Florida. I guess at 83 you might get tired of funerals because your own mortality is close. People grieve privately but good old Captain Kirk is getting bashed big time from fans shaming him that he is not going to make it. It’s only sensible that he be there and respectful but funerals are like saying goodbye. .a finality of sorts. Maybe he just can’t emotionally do it. I doubt he is disrespectful but people sure are ripping him apart and calling the 83 year old alot of horrible things.

Captain Kirk is not attending the funeral. Now that’s seriously wrong. Selling a coin is not an insult but a celebration of a creation. Without Spock the show would not have been much. He actually was way cooler to like than Kirk and so lovable as a character even though he didn’t have emotions himself as that character. Leaonard Nimoy was an amazing poet and I just read one on Twitter. He published poetry books. I had no clue but I cannot wait to read them as I am so touched by just reading one.
