COUPON EQUALITY
Please join me in standing up for COUPON EQUALITY!!! The purpose of this thread is to put a stop to customer discrimination. Please share how the current coupon policy has affected u and your shopping experience w HSN. Choose your words carefully, as I would like to share this with Corporate.

I am a loyal HSN customer who does not feel appreciated, not even slightly. Your marketing team only sends coupons to members who aren’t shopping and new customers. Those coupons are different than the 20% coupons that expire the next day. The good coupons are labeled “selected customers only.”
I feel so let down when my sister receives your good coupons that she doesn’t even want and can’t even give them to me to make use of, bc they are linked to her account. The marketing techniques HSN uses aren’t effective when ppl like my sister throw their coupons away. HSN isn’t generating sales while I am waiting to find a coupon to make a purchase.
If I don’t have a coupon, the item is often a better deal elsewhere once the very high shipping rate is factored in. Only HSN cardholders receive birthday coupons. There is no rewards program. There is no free shipping membership program.
Please acknowledge how much I have spent at HSN and how I have contributed to your business by word of mouth and by making endless product recommendations on your Community page. Please give me incentive to stay with you.
Sincerely,
kemiqueen

Every online shopping entity I shop at sends me coupons. Real coupons – like 30% off entire order – no conditions. They don’t care if items are on clearance, if it’s beauty or home goods. They want me to buy from them and they give me incentives to do so. What do I get from HSN?? Well personally next to nothing. I’ve been shopping with you forever. I got my first so call “coupon” emailed to me a couple weeks ago for a beauty item only and only for the next 24 hours. What the heck – is that what all of my business is worth to you? And each and every time you take down discount codes because they are for “Select Customers” you are telling me flat out I am NOT a Select Customer and I am not worthy of any incentives at all. You are the absolute worse company I do online shopping with to provide incentives to the customers who buy the most from you. I think your corporate managers all need a good work shop to go to in order to learn how to treat a customer, how to keep a customer and all the things you are doing to lose customers. Read through the threads – not just this one. There are hundreds of complaining customers out here. We all can’t be wrong.

I love shopping this way! I am currently shopping for my son’s birthday. Unfortunately I did not find out what he wanted until a few moments ago but my “short lived”coupon expired a couple days ago. Why wouldn’t I go directly to the manufacturers site and be included in coupons they offer to everyone and do not expire so quickly.

I have yet to find a way to copy and paste something on these threads, but feel free to nab my HSN Give Us A Break thread when you share this with the higher ups.
One thing you can tell them. There is no anonymity on these threads. It’s like Mom & Dad giving a lollipop to little Billy in FULL VIEW of his siblings, and expecting the other children not to be hurt and envious. Most insulting of all, the Parents don’t explain why Suzie, Tommy and Joanie aren’t getting a lollipop, but try to distract them by saying something stupid. (I’m talking about those coached Managers who give the same robo-answer every time this topic comes up, you feel me?)

Honestly, this is not the only place I shop that sends coupons to some and not others. My favorite beauty store has been known to send different coupons to different people. Not everyone gets the same ones. At my grocery store I get the “best customer” coupons mailed to me. You have to spend a certain amount with them to qualify to get them at all and then they tailor them to your buying history.
The people that spend the most or have certain items on their wish lists might be getting certain coupons. I don’t know that this automatically makes it unfair. If a company gives more discounts to people that ultimately spend more it’s their choice.
I don’t think this type of thing is exclusive to HSN at all. Frankly, I also don’t think it’s unfair. The only change that would be nice would be more info from HSN on how we qualify for coupons! That would be great. I know why my bra store sends me better deals. I’m have their credit card and have qualified for the highest level of it, so I get the best perks. It was made clear how to earn that status. My beauty store I qualified for their most exclusive program by spending a certain amount a year. When I get certain offers in the mail it is made clear they are for members of that status only. Perhaps HSN could offer more info so we can all see what it takes to get the best deals.
Maybe this sounds awful, but the truth is I like to be treated to exclusive perks and discounts and enjoy being in the higher end rewards programs with my favorite stores. If I spend more and therefore “earn” more discounts and perks with the store I think it’s perfectly fair. My mother-in-law spends a lot more at one of my favorite stores than I do and she gets WAY better offers more often. Sure, I’d love those offers too, but I know she has “earned” them through her spending and it’s not like the company is playing favorites for no reason. If I spend more with them in the future I will qualify for some of the goodies she gets as well. Perhaps someday that will be the case.
So, HSN, my thoughts would be to tell us how we can earn more exclusive coupons and status with you. Are there dollar amounts spent in certain time frames that qualify? Do our favorite items currently stored give us chances to get coupons for them? If you make a clear rewards program that we know how we can maximize perhaps people wouldn’t see it as unfair. I have received numerous wonderful coupons and am grateful for them. I have had no complaints, but it would still be lovely to know what we can do to get those goodies.

hi,
I also spend a lot of money on hsn and rarely get a coupon for the things i buy. I see in my cable bill a coupon for new customers for hsn but does not apply to me since i have been a loyal shopper for about 10 years. This really irritates me since I feel like I am helping them stay in business and support them. But I have decided that I just see something I want and rethink do I really want this and wait a few days and the need to buy passes. So from now on I am going to buy less from them and buy elsewhere. they dont seem to care about the “old, loyal” customers and want the new younger customers since their products are being changed to different types. So, I will take my money elsewhere. I also was not happy that they started charging me sales tax, when my state says a company does not charge tax unless they have an actual store in my state which hsn does not. I questioned them and they gave me a canned answer, so another reason to buy from other internet stores who care about the customer. I know this was not all you wanted to hear but thought I would share my experience with you while I was here. Thanks for your post!

The coupons offered are so few and far between and the restrictions on TS, sale and clearance items really make me angry. Every other site I visit always has coupons available without restrictions which is a big incentive. The thing that irritates me the most are the shipping charges, $5.95 – $7.95 for items that are mere grams in weight. Most of the coupons offered here barely cover shipping charges. There are 3 jewelry items I would like to order today but the shipping would be $20.00 for things that wouldn’t even add up to an once in weight so I cancelled the order.

I went to my favorite bakery today. They have the BEST muffins in the world. It didn’t even occur to me until I pulled out my punch card that even this privately owned little bakery gives me a free muffin after every 9 muffins I buy. They offer the same on their cookies. Whatcha think HSN???

? thinking about it, the outrageous shipping charges are worse than the coupons. HSN come into the 21st century already and quit ripping off your loyal customers! I’m surprised you didn’t take notice when QVC changed shipping to $3.00. Look at Zappos, I could go on and on……

Thanks to all of u who have participated so far! To those who haven’t, please share your thoughts, even if they r brief!

I would appreciate coupons that give more than 24 hours to use them. I was emailed one at 9:42 am that expires at 11:59 pm.

I do not check my e-mail daily and when I did, there was a coupon for 25% off. There was no expiration date or any information in the e-mail that showed or told of an expiration date. It was just a coupon for 25% off anything I wanted. So, I tried to use it. That’s when I learned it had expired over a week ago. There have been other coupons as well. 20% off, 15% off etc.. However, they were only good on an item priced $50 or more and if 20% or 25%, it again only gave you a certain amount off your purchase—maybe $50 off the item if it was over $200. I remember when a coupon really saved you many $$s. It might have been for your entire purchase or on a single item. Those were the days when the coupon was truly a full coupon towards the purchase of one item or for the full total of your purchase. Today, I see many of those coupons on other websites. I also see when you purchase an item for that day you only pay S&H once and your other purchases for that day will be included at no additional shipping cost. I’m
beginning to think that all coupons are useless and naturally this will make my shopping experience less and less over time.

I’m impressed! After reading many of these posts, I can’t believe how many of you get coupons from HSN on a fairly regular basis.
I can’t recall the last time I was sent a coupon by email. Yes, I get emails from HSN, but they usually are just sales pitches. Perhaps there is a coupon attached, but from the subject line, I doubt it.
I have not purchased anything from HSN in months. I am currently in the process of paying off my HSN card and flex pays.
I won’t be back anytime soon. I somehow feel that the HSN “ship” has sailed and left me behind on the dock.
No coupons for me, no special HSN birthday treats, no thanks of any kind after spending many thousands of dollars over the years.
Normally, I wouldn’t expect thanks, but it seems that so many of you DO get thanks from HSN, I am left feeling a little cold.
