Serious Skin Care Glycolic Retexturizing Pads
I really like these! thank you so much for encouraging me to give them a try as I have sensitive skin.
The first day I used it on my face it had a burning sensation with some redness. I kept it on for 30 minutes and then rinsed it off. Put on my regular mositurizer. The next day I swiped my face again without the side effects so I kept it on and put my mositurizer on over it. If you are really sensitive just take it slow so your skin can adapt. The redness dissipates quickly.
This is a great exfoliator, my skin is smoother with a more radiant appearance. A definite keeper!:womanhappy:

I hope SSC makes the glycolic pads in an extra strength version as well. I will keep ordering these for alternate days but have found “Cane and Austin” 30 percent strength. SSC are 5 percent. Nice exfoliator. All Doctor Austin does is “glycolics. 10, 20, 30 percent strengths.
The saleslady gave me about a weeks supply of them at Sephora and highly recommend! There is no fragrance, contains Reintols, and vitamins C, E, etc.
I am blonde, fair skinned, very fair skinned. Tolerate well. HSN please consider this brand. Thanks:womanvery-happy:

Hello HSN, Just wanted to let you know that I recently used some SSC Glycolic Retexturizing Pads that I have had for a while. First I must say that I don’t think the product is too old as I do not see not expiration date on it.
Anyway, today (2 days after using), I woke up with a shingles type rash on my forehead.
My first thought was that I had eaten something that caused this rash as I have had cold sores that resembled this rash. I have kept my cold sore breakouts at bay by taking Lysine to counter-act Arginine that may be hidden in my foods. I use a Lysine/Arginine ratio list of common problem foods to keep on track.
I kept trying to figure out where I messed up……Lo and behold I checked this product and found it containes Arginine and Lysine in the ingredients!!!! The fact that Arginine is listed before Lysine also suggests there is more Arginine that Lysine. I don’t want to cause any trouble, I’m just trying to let you know that Arginine should not be used in any products that don’t have a proper amount of Lysine to counter act. My understanding is that Lysine should be about 2X the Arginine. Please pass this on to SSC because others may have a similar issue and not know why.
Thank You, Diane***

Hello everyone!
I know this section is about the Glycolic pads, however, I am hoping someone can assist me with the Glycolic moisturizer.
A few months back, there was a small Glycolic kit on special. I just began using the items not long ago. I have a question about what the consistency should be on the Glycolic moisturizer? The consistency of mine is very….I hate to use the word “watery” but that is what it is like – runnier/thinner consistency, not thick like other moisturizers I have used in the past.
This is my first time using the moisturizer. I am not sure if this is normal or not?
I am hoping someone who uses it regularly can help me.
I am worried if the consistency of mine is NOT normal, then I may not get the benefits – plus since I just began using it, I may not be able to do anything about it because it is over the 30 days.
Any help will be very appreciated! Thank you so much! <3

I use both! I will copy and paste from the old acid thread:
SSC Glycolic Retexturizing Pads
Glycolic Acid: Falls into a class called Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs); penetrates the deepest since it is the smallest molecularly; works fast but can lead to irritation
________________________________________________________________
Dr. Graf Skin Rejuvenation Exfoliating & Firming Pads
Lactic Acid: AHA (alpha hydroxy acid), extracted from milk, exfoliating, water-binding properties
Salicylic Acid: BHA (beta hydroxy acid), penetrates pore lining to exfoliate inside pore as well as skin surface, combats acne
Ascorbic Acid: Vitamin C (stabilized), antioxidant*, soothing, diminishes the look of fine lines, wrinkles, dullness, and uneven skin tone
Thioctic Acid: ALA (alpha lipoic acid), antioxidant*, water and oil soluble, capable of regenerating other antioxidants*, soothing
*Antioxidant: Reduces oxidative stress by neutralizing free radicals to stop attack on cells

Say it isn’t so! I have a friend who recently commented that she needs to do something to her skin and that mine had a nice glow to it. So I wanted to order the glycolic pads with gommage and give it to her as a Christmas gift.
Well, they are sold out now. Is this a classic in the SSC line and will it be back? Thanks.:womanhappy:

I love these pads too and received them in a Glycolic box of goodies Jen’s visit this Summer – glad I ordered two boxes:heart:. I actually cut the large pad in half and use each staurated piece a.m. and p.m.. I just ordered the pads and glommage combo on sale right now $24.95 as I am getting great compliments since started using these and don;t want to be without and price is great. I have very fair English skin but these pads do not sting and just leave a lovely soft sheen once face has dried. I’m also using the very expensive but worth it manual microwand once a week in conjunction – like a diamond foot file but teeny for the face:-).

I have been trying the glycolic pads too and continue to get an ever-so-slight stinging sensation. I used it on my neck and dec and got a bit of a reaction and am sticking to using it on my face only. However, this pales in comparison to the reaction my neck and dec got from the SSC Retinol pads. No problem on my face but on my neck and dec I actually got blisters! Of course, to make sure it wasn’t something else, I had to try the Retinol pads on my neck and dec again and same horrible reaction. I didn’t realize our face skin was so different from other skin.

The Serious Skincare products I am using are the GLYCOLIC Cleanser, Pads and Gommage. Everyone needs glycolic! :smileyvery-happy: I prefer the Glycolic Pads over the Vitamin A and Pure Peptide Pads. I also prefer the Glycolic Cleanser over the Vitamin A Cleanser.
I am weary of SSC’s moisturizers and eye creams due to the ingredient decks. I have tried their A Force XR Retinol Serum, which is very mild, perhaps bc it is mostly water. :smileyfrustrated: Now I use Dr. Graf’s Ferulic + Retinol Serum; it is excellent and anhydrous (contains no water). :smileyvery-happy: ? It is back in stock!
I am interested in their latest serum…can’t remember the name, but it was expensive and sold out. I got their Phyto Pumpkin Facial Scrub last year and thought it was ok. I don’t like scrubs in jars, bc when using it in the shower, water from your hand gets inside when u scoop it out. This particular scrub is a bit watery to begin with, so I did not order one this year. :smileyindifferent:

? nice to have you back and hope you had a great vacation.:smileyhappy: I have not tried the Gommage yet, but will let you know. Do you know how I can find out the percentage of Glycolic on the” Glycolic extreme facial peel”? Hope it’s at least 30 percent.:womanhappy:
-
I just checked the ingredient’s list on the acid pads and No. 2 on the list is “Glycolic Acid”. Now I know why I love this product!:smileyhappy:

HELP — Can anyone share their experience with the SSC “Extreme Facial Peel”?? I’ve made the glycolic pads a part of my daily beauty routine and now considering trying it I am fair skinned.
Thanks:womanvery-happy:
