Lipstick with Staying Power
My daughter went to a lipstick party the other day and she showed me how her lipstick stayed on for hours and hours, plus it didn’t smear at all when she ran a tissue across her lips. It cost $60. I know I have bought lipstick on HSN that promised to stay on all day and wouldn’t smear. WRONG! In fact, it smeared worse than regular lipstick and didn’t last at all. When a lipstick promises to stay on all day, I expect to be able to drink my coffee or iced tea and it still be on. Do you know of a brand that actually does this? I’m also interested in a lipstick or any lip product that will plump up the lips. It seems like we talked about lip plumpers before here. I’m sure HSN does carry lip products that will do exactly this.

I received the Perlier lip balm two days ago, used it for two days and my lips broke out. I went to the doctor yesterday, I have a rash all over my body, I hope it is not from the Perlier Bath Cream. Is anyone else having problems with their products?

I use MAC lip primer and then top it off with Kat Von Dee’s lip colors. I love her lipstick. Was a MAC girl all the way, but I find Kat Von Dee’s lipsticks are super pigmented and last good for me.
Kat Von D has some lip stains that are called “Everlasting” for about $20 a pop. Vampire Deep Red is one color I like. Sold at Sephora and her website.

I had no idea there were so many lipsticks with such staying power. I wonder if they would work as a blush, too? I remember my mother putting on her lipstick every morning, then using it as blush. I kind of picked up the habit and still do it sometimes even though i have several blushes.I’m going to do a search for these suggestions y’all left. Thanks everybody for your input.

Avon lip stains work for me. Also the Revlon just bitten lip stains but these were discontinued. They’re easy to put on – they are packaged like sharpies – liquid stain in marker form. They are also buildable. Once set, I top with lip balm as I cannot stand sticky lip gloss. They stay all day.
If I want a bright, opaque color (red) I like Sephora’s Cream Lip Stain in Red 01. It will stay all day so long as I don’t get anything oily or greasy on my lips. As a plus, I can kiss my husband’s cheeks as many times as I want and it won’t smear or transfer. Same with the lip stains. That’s why I gave up on traditional lipsticks.
Hope you find find one that works for you. ??

Revlon Colorstay is the best. It goes on like a regular old lipstick, and feels like a regular lipstick, but it stays for hours and hours. I had done my own search for the best long lasting lipstick and this one won, and it’s like 10 bucks. It does not have any plumping though.

I use MAC lip pencil first for my entire lip (give these a try as they have great staying power), then pick out a lipstick color applying with a lipstick brush only – a little goes a long way and stops the greasy slip off, and top it off with Bobby Brown’s clear lip balm in “yogi bare” for a touch of shine. (any lip balm will do).
As we age, these shiny, wet glosses only accentuate the lips because one’s eye will gravitate to them first. I like to keep it more on the “matte” side, with that subtle hint of shine.
Now, anyone under 40 go have a ball and shine it up!! lol.:womanvery-happy:

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick – stays for a quiet a long time on me, even while I’m drinking coffee. It does come off a bit on my cup, and it is slightly drying, but if you exfoliate your lips and get rid of the dead skin it looks great. My favorite color is Baci – I’m a bit obsessed with it.

I had mentioned that I ordered the Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme Plumping Lip Gloss off HSN. Well it arrived, and I love it! The tingle is very mild compared to Smashbox, but it works just as well. I like the Too Faced wand applicator as opposed to the squeeze tube on Smashbox. The gloss is clear, but shortly after applying it, my lips swell and turn their natural pink color. It looks really pretty and has iridescence but no glitter. It isn’t sticky or drying either. It’s a winner!

I too have a problem with lipstick staying. Sometimes I do get lucky though on a good day.
I have found Chanel to be my go to. It has a gloss on one end and the color on the other. It can be a bit drying. My favorite color is Soft Rose which seems to go with nearly anything. They have discontinued a couple of my favorite colors and the price has gone up as well but I sure do enjoy it for its staying power.
I know there are many drugstore ones but I have yet to buy any……but I’m sure I will if the color is right and of course the price.
Good luck, and let us know what you have tried.

And I am sure there are some on HSN also that I have yet to try!

YOU CRACK ME UP!!! :womanlol:
Really pretty nude color you posted…love it and so would my daughter-in-law.
Really liking this color. I love red or a very pretty, rich pink and this color looks GREAT! Never step out of the house without my lips and make-up on….I’m just like my dear precious Mother. She always had her hair styled and make-up perfect. My neighbor and sister-in-law are Mary Kay rep’s. Really good stuff and good prices. I have a bunch and have used this product for my lips.
THANK YOU ALL FOR SHARING YOUR LIP SECRETS!!! :womanwink:

I don’t use lipstick, my lips are too dry. I use Laura Geller lip gloss and then go over it with some Blistex and work it into my lips. This stays on most of the day, doesn’t run or smear, and keeps my lips nice and moist.
I think if you are going to eat and drink and use a napkin most anything you put on is going to come off.:smileyhappy:

Those long lasting lipsticks either don’t last or they do but they dry my lips out and make them peel etc.
I find if I fill in my lips with good lip pencil before the layer of lip stick can extend the color considerably.

Hey, Pammy… I don’t know the first thing about Lip Plumpers, so, can’t help you there. However, for all-day or night staying power, I use Maybelline’s New York Superstay 24 in the Keep It Red colour… which, by the way, is anything but Red, *lol*… it’s a very deep Pink… a lovely, sophisticated colour… it’s my ‘Go To’.
But first, I use Avon’s Glimmersticks Lip Liner in Clear to outline my lips because, for me, it’s the best I have found to keep lip colour from bleeding into one’s lines around their lips. Unfortunately, it’s discontinued now, but, you can get them on Ebay… I bought 10 of them… that otta last me! *lol*
Then, I fill-in with the Superstay, let that dry for a couple of minutes, then use the Clear Glosser that comes with the Superstay, (one end is the Colour Wand, the other end is the Clear).
I can eat, drink, lick my lips, pat them with a napkin, and even kiss my husband! and the only thing that comes off is the Gloss. I never have to reapply the colour, only the Gloss. It’s fantastic.
p.s. I live in the mountains and it’s very dry here, very low humidity, and my lips tend to chap. To keep them soft, smooth, and oh-so-kissable, *lol*, I use Mary Kay’s Satin Lips Mask and Balm. I get it at Amazon. It makes such a difference when applying lipstick… it just glides on, like it should.

NYX Lipstick Lingerie ($7) stays on for me. They come in a bunch of colors. I wear Lace Detail, which is a nude pink beige:
Smashbox O-Plump ($26) works well for me:
I ordered Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme Plumping Lip Gloss ($28) for the first time a couple days ago, so I will let u know how I like it:

There is a brand that stays on the lips no matter what; it’s used by many in the porn industry. Seriously. If you want the brand, let me know and I’ll add it in.
It does work. Nothing takes it off except the remover. I find it drying for being used daily. Using everyday lipstick, I find that filling in my lips with a lip pencil then pressing my lipcolor in, blotting and applying again makes it last a long time. I use a product by Lancor for my lips that hydrates and plumps. I don’t know of anything on HSN that works like this, to be honest. I’m curious if anyone knows of one sold here.
The results of a lip plumper, however, will never be near what having lip injections will provide. I have full lips but someday I might do it just to keep the natural outline of my lips where they are.
