Help With Serums
With all the top notch selections out there I don’t know which serum is the best and wonder what has worked most for you? I’m in mid 50s with combo skin. I like Sign ClubA, Nassif but many others I have not tried. What about Dr Graf, Elysse, BB, Serious Skin?? What are your recommendations? Thank you so much for your input!

I’m no expert but I use Adrienne’s Vitamin C and also her Argan Oil serums. I usually buy Adrienne’s kits that are such a good deal and then I layer everything. I really can’t comment on the other people you mention. Who is the plastic surgeon who is on Botched? I know he has a line of products. I would like to think he would know what is good but you never know. I hope some of the other ladies comment here because they know so much more than I do.

Look at the conversation right below this one (I think it is below). Elysee Scientific ?? is the heading. You may learn something there.

I have used serums from all of the lines you mentioned except BB. The serums I always go back to are M. Asam. If you look you will see every one of their serums are a customer pick. Of the serums you mentioned the only one I would stay away from is Serious Skincare, their serums don’t do much, have very little helpful ingredients and are very watery.

@ging98 I’m waiting for my BBS kit to arrive and will post updates on the thread Beauty Bioscience R-45 TS 12/29 – I GOT IT!”.
I currently love and use many serums from several brands that HSN offers. It would take me forever to list them all.
If u can be more specific about your concerns, I’d be happy to make suggestions. I, too, have combo skin.
There are two Elysee serums that are MUST HAVES in my regimen, however they are not suitable for those w wheat allergies or paraben concerns:
Firmance Pycnogenol Firming Serum 221-590
Fountain of Youth Soothing Line Diminishing Gel 218-730

How did you like the Nassif? I haven’t tried any of those products yet and am just curious, I appreciate hearing your input, thanks 🙂

I’ve tried many of the lines here but I honestly believe the best of all serums on HSN are Elysee. I’d start with one of her kits containing pygnogenol and fountain of youth for morning and Youthspan Serum and/or BioAccel for night. I think MAsam makes excellent products too and like his eye cream and his day and night cream. These products have been my go-to serums for years and they work really well at keeping my skin tight and firm.

Thank you so much for all of your guidance. I’ve been using SCA for almost a year now and Dr Nassif serum for 2 weeks morning & night. {521-808} This hydro screen serum has a fragrance that reminds me of sunshine & spring flowers. My skin feels like velvet after I apply it. It’s been so cold here I use two applications at times. I haven’t noticed a huge visual difference but my skin feels dewy & wonderful. I think this serum is a keeper and over time will work wonders.
I love ALL of the SCA products but think I purchased too much at one time and it’s hard to tell which item works the best. I will continue to use these products as well. My main goal hers is to keep the wrinkles at bay and diminish them as much as possible 🙂

If you have combination skin, you have to be careful that you don’t cause breakouts in some areas with very rich serums. I’d give Perlier Hydrozone serum a try. It is unscented, very neutral, calming and adjusts to provide an ultimate moisture balance. You can always go with two different serums addressing specific areas but most people want to use one product. I can’t stress enough how important it is to have well exfoliated skin. serums are a waste of time and money if you are not exfoliating either mechically or chemically.

Elysee’s been my skin-care choice for the past couple of years. I tried them once for a short time and didn’t think they did anything and stopped. I tried again a year or so later, using them daily, and I’ve had good results. I use the blue (Fountain of Youth) and red (Firmance) serums. Right now I’m also using the beige Facial Ressurection Serum. These products never irritate my skin and never cause break-outs on my combination skin.
I’d like to see Elysee post a thread on which we can ask for advice the next time Linda Marshall’s on-air.
Serious Skin Care’s A Force got a good review a few years ago from Paula Begouin (sp?) before she started her own Paula’s Choice line. It’s no longer there, though. I’ve used A Force in the past and liked it, but for some reason retinol now makes my skin swell up. This happens even if I use it once. It happened with A Force and with the Paula’s Choice 1% product. The only retinol I’ve been able to use is Peter Thomas Roth’s, which never irritates. I had a sample of it from one of those QVC samples boxes. I don’t know how effective it is because it was just a small bottle. I’ve stopped using retinol.
I take issue with the statement that Serious Skin Care’s products don’t have enough active ingredients. SSC is a quality line. In fact, their glycolic cleanser is the finest cleanser in the world, in my opinion. I’ve been thinking about getting their olive oil exfoliating mask. I had it a few years ago, and it was fabulous. Do they even sell it at HSN anymore? Once I accidentally left it on for 30 minutes and burned my face. It’s important to follow the directions because this product really works. After my skin healed, it looked great, though.

Some of the best serums on the market are made by Zelens (not sold at HSN, sadly). A doctor and one that doesn’t advertise, his serums contain an excellent group of ingredients and most importantly: DO what he creates them to do. You don’t need much.
I read the ingredient list now very carefully; the vast majority on the market are full of junk. Funny thing, you don’t have to spend a lot of money for a good serum. An excellent drug store brand for serums is Vichy (Walgreens, Target and Ulta).

I’m insanely in love with Perlier’s entire Hydro-Zone line. What a find! I know you aren’t supposed to, but I can’t help but keep touching my nice, soft, smooth face.

Elude rocks. Can actually see a huge difference in mouth to nose line, crows feet and neck. Best serums I’ve ever used!!!!
