Animal Testing-Cosmetics
Does anyone know if Elysee does animal testing on ingredients and end-products? The company is not listed in any database I have checked. I emailed its customer service department directly but have not received a response in about 4 days. Patience is a virtue but I’ll bet a loyal Elysee customer in the forums already has the answer. Many thanks!

I was watching a Beekman1802 show & found out something I didn’t realize about companies saying they don’t do animal testing. It’s not just the end product you need to look at for animal testing. You need to know if each ingredient in it was animal tested. Evidently there is a “loop-hole” of sorts that allows a company to say “no animal testing” when the product as a whole was not tested on animals. Different ingredients going into the mix could have been tested on animals. Beekman1802 does ZERO animal testing from start to finish & their products are made in the USA.

This is an old topic and the only one I could find on whether or not Elysee is cruelty free. Since companies’ status can change, I would greatly appreciate Elysee stating publicly that they do not test on animals and do not buy products from those who do, or use third party testing.
I found a product of theirs I like but hesitate to recommend it without knowing for certain.
I’m also wondering why they use parabens, when there’s some question about its long-term safety. I’d like to err on the side of caution, not take chances.
Thanks for reading. I hope someone from Elysee sees this. I thought of emailing but figure I’ll get a canned response. And seeing something stated publicly seems more legit than having it said via private email.

I don’t believe that Elysee tests, but I am curious about whether or not any of its affiliates test. If they are getting products from companies that test, then that’s not good. Does anybody know this?

I have been using Elysee for a long time and I asked them the very same question. They said they don’t test on animals, which is a good, and a very important issue to me as well.
Now what I hope Elysee would change is;
1) stop the use of too many parabens in their products, If you google it you will see why I am cocern about parabens.
2) improve their pumps, I wonder often why they don’t want improve it for a reason, they must know by now is not working!!! I stop buying all their pump products, even those that I loved, because I couln’t get the product out and I hate wasting money and products.It would make many of their customers happy.

Dear jjules,
Thanks so much for taking the time to post the answer. I also received an email from Elysee today stating the very same. This is very good news!
Again, many thanks,

Hi jwdickens!
I contacted Elysee in the past with this same question. They do not do any type of animal testing, and in fact, they are one of the companies that has funded the alternative to animal testing. I am sorry that you have not received a response to your email, but I know that their hours are M-F, 8am-4:30pm, so hopefully you will receive an answer soon. If it was close to the weekend, they may not have gotten it. I hope I was able to answer your question!;-);
