Help & Advice! This hair tool left me with a mohawk!
I’ve blown and styled my hair with a round brush for years so I know what I’m doing.
My hair is straight and below shoulder length.
My 1st pass using Joy’s Hairdryer with the included round brush left me with this:
Here’s the brush after I had to cut it out:
The barrel is copper color but see how my hair is wrapped around most of the barrel.
I poured a bottle of conditioner on hoping to loosen the tangled mess so I could separate the strands. After an hour not one strand or clump came loose. I started to snip what I thought was enough to loosen the hold but still couldn’t get the brush out. I had no choice but to cut it out completely. If I could’ve seen the back of my head better I would’ve just snipped out all the teeth of the brush!
I’m on the West Coast and CS is closed til 8am.

So sorry for what you have and are still going through..
Did you try to search for Class Action Suits against Joy’s company or HSN?
Product recalls…not only recalls by Joy’s company or HSN..I’m sure they would only do that if forced!..but USA government recall lists?
Or try to contact a Personal Injury Attorney..most places consults are free.
They might not take the case..if they do they get a big chunk of the settlement though…but you will get some information..Since this is item is a hazzard they may give you other options.
Off topic a little….
A few years ago I had an issue with Major Computer Company..
I found out there were more than 1 Class Action Suits against them for my product and others..
I filed with my State’s Attorney General Office..filled out a few forms..It took awhile(maybe a year) but I was awarded enough to buy 3 new computers!
There was no personal injury involved thankfully..
Wishing you the best..just make sure you keep accurate records..If the item was removed from the websites and those dates also.

Hi Gise!:heart: Gee, I love your different avatars (color vs. black and white). Sending out letters Certified Return Receipt is your best bet. One to the head of HSN and one to Joy’s company. Yes, that way you will know someone had to sign for it. Also, send a letter to the Better Business Bureau of your state and your state’s Attorney Generals office. Documentation and pictures should go with all letters. Hope you have been keeping track of the dates and times and who you spoke with when you contacted Customer Service and their replies. After quitting as a Flight Attendant I was a legal secretary for many years. Hope this information helps in some way.:womanhappy::heart:

I really appreciate knowing someone is interested and not feeling abandoned or alone.
Even if it’s for a good laugh which I’ve also had many times!
I see it’s getting frustrating for all of you too but you continue to rally on my behalf despite my inability to do so anymore.

I think what you guys see and what I see are always different.
When I’m writing a post I see the color picture but when I press “post” then it goes back to black & white.
I’m so frustrated, I don’t even know how to answer (or ask) anything anymore.

Hi Gise- just saw your post under beauty . Wow that’s awful what happened with your hair. Hope it’s better by now and it’s good to hear from you . Understand you and I both had the same issues with HSN messing up our accountS! Mine was mixed up with my sons account and it took forever and about 10 phone calls to get active again . I had to open a new account so my new name is nightcrawler but this is sassy granny. The whole thing started with them linking a credit card that is in both our names to the wrong account . What a mess it was. It’s not cool to have someone living at the same address and have two separate accounts. Totally messes their system up. I lost all of my 10,000 points and my grand total of like close to 100,000. I just said the heck with it and started over with a new account . I hear they are going to change everything in the forum soon. Hope this text finds you well and your hair growing out along with the extensions . #Sassy

Yes, the size of the brush matters in all of these type of products. Your hair can be fixed by a good stylist that knows how to still allow you to have long locks in back and short on top. Need to rename this tool as the Cosheese Hair styler.

HOLY COW GISE!!! I just read this and am in shock! Since I have long hair I can empathize with you. What have you done to correct this mess? Please update us. My hair tangles if you look at it so I would never consider using this type of brush and now I can see why. OMG – I would be furious and heartbroken at the same time!:womansurprised:

Don’t look now, but the Joy hairdryer and the offending round brush are on a Today’s Special Flashback. Being that flashback is a term used for when a person is reliving a trauma, I guess that’s apropos.
