Stephanie, it is later then August 5th, but I know what they are doing! Having a party with all their catnip toys. Opening the door where the food is and my favorite, building me hills in the sandbox when i am gone too long. Did i mentioned, one of them gets into my basket, which is hanging on the wall by the way and steals the rubberband. She shredds them and leaves the pieces for me to pick up! I am their personal butler!:catlol:

? well… there are things that you can do to help the cat, but i am pretty sure that if you put mothballs in a cup on top of your car you will be picking up mothballs and the cup from the ground, and looking at a cat that is thinking “seriously…mothballs in a cup?” if you cover the car, the cat will like it even more and will really never leave:cattongue: i can give you some more good advice later. good luck. oh and ps….enjoy your “new” cat. tee hee:catvery-happy:

? six bassetts? SIX? wow! you and your husband are wonderful!!!! ok the stray cat…this is why cats get “made homeless.” they do things that drive people crazy and it’s hard to control. my guess is that the cat is getting on to the car to get warm and up high away from threats…impossible to control. or is she scratching the side? …easier to control. i need more info. i have some thoughts though.
moo-baying…only a bassett…i love them:heart:

? yes, bassetts are wonderful! we have two in the neighborhood, but they don’t walk by too often. i just gave buddy, another new addition to the street, his treat. he’s turning into a beauty with the family’s love and good care. life after shelters can be very good:heart: i agree with you… when these cats go, no more for me. my heart cannot stand the pain of their pain. but then, on the other hand….their love makes me a better person. when were are without our four-legged companions we just have to absorb the love of the pets of others, (and do some fostering:cattongue: one thing that i miss about having basset is the sounds they make. it was like music. i LOVED the baying, the oooooooohhhhhing, and woooo woooooo woooooooing….head thrown back!!!! it was cool.
here’s something that i haven’t thought about in years. about thirty-eight years ago my basset was comforting my frail, elderly, bed-ridden grandmother. she kept rubbing his ears and cooing at him in norwegian…she was calling him “velvet ears.” memories+dogs+ love= tears.

I suspect they make Margaritas and look for that lost shaker of salt. hmmm
-
? i am sooooooo sorry about coco. and my heart aches for your son. sad, sad, and we try to make it right, the pool party sounds very nice. i think it was isak dinesen who once said…all life’s problems can be made easier with salt water: swimming in the ocean, sweat, or tears. maybe there were enough tears to add some salt to the pool. :catsad: sad but:catvery-happy: with:heart: take care.

? hi, i don’t understand the question. i might have missed part of the tread. are you asking if a cat can set off the motion detection ability of a camera? in my case, yes. but it depends on the camera and placement. just be sure to direct your question to hsn if the question is about a product. if you were asking about setting off something else, then, sorry i don’t know to what you are referring. :catvery-happy:

Oh BASSETBABE I am so sorry for your loss. We lost our dog COCO (mixed breed a drop off we took in) last May, 2015. Lost him to cancer VERY VERY FAST! My son didn’t want to let him go and bring him to the Vet. to be put a sleep. COCO was family. I was scared that something bad was gonna happen. Spoke with him and said, “Son, it’s time.” Well, I have a blind chihuahua that sleeps with me and hubby. The next day when I got up she was whining and whining. I said to her, “Tiny you ok?” When I walked into the Kitchen there was my son, stumped over crying. He looked at me and we both lost it. Tiny, my chihuahua knew. COCO died in his arms during the night. My neighbor is a Vet and he came and got him before I a woke. He took COCO to be cremated. We threw a party here for him. Family, friends and all their dogs. We had a pool party and all the dogs allowed in water too….it’s a party! Later that evening we pulled a Utility trailer around my 17 acres with family, friends, and doggies. There was a moment of silence as my son threw COCO’S ashes all over acreage. What was strange was all the dogs never barked or wiggled. It was as if they knew. A wonderful moment of time…that was cherished.

? hi, i am pretty sure that my cats get into my laptop and order things from hsn when i am not home…. i suddenly have a very, very, very large array of jeffery banks super soft throws and samantha brown travel throws. they were on clearance, so at least the kitties know how to spend my money wisely. can you imagine what would happen hsn sold cat food? wait… you’re selling a camera, right? i’ll have to check my order status regularly because i can hear them now…..”it’s selfie time!” :catvery-happy:
-
? ? you two are breaking my heart… it’s so sad to lose our dogs (and to be in the process of losing) and it’s so painful to suddenly remember the horrible loss. i had two bassets. one was hit by a car and died in my arms. it was about thirty-five years ago and i still wince and feel sick to my stomach when i remember it. horrible, horrible, horrible. i am sorry for your loss and hope that you hug your dogs for me. no dogs for me now, just cats. i am known as the “dog cookie” lady in the neighborhood, though. i have my special, yellow labs that come by and wait. awesome dogs. i get my “dog fix” that way. nothing like getting knocked down with dog passion…i hope that it isn’t just the cookies that they love… to you and your pups. nik.

Hi Stephanie,
I’m looking into the Today’s Special Canary Home Security, does this work a LG Optimus Pro cellphone? And IPad as well?

My basset used to get very upset when we left. But she is now blind, with dementia:womansad:,so I think she sleeps the time we are gone.

Well, from the looks of the place when I get home, I’d say they have hair-ball hacking contests!
