Tracfone
Hi friends –
Hoping someone can lend some insight. I tried to activate my MIL’s tracfone this morning. I called the number on the card and entered her zip as asked. The automated service said that her carrier was only available M-F and that her phone would be activated within 24-48 hours. Then the call just disconnected. So am I to expect that her phone is going to magically be operable in 24-48 hours? I don’t even know what her phone number will be. Can anyone shed some light on this topic? On top of it, she leaves today and I’d rather the phone not activate in a few days – that will only waste the days that come with the phone as she won’t be back for 2 weeks. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks so much for reading.

call the number on the blue card and give them the info on the red card. I think they want the sim number on the red card. everything about the tripple minutes etc is inside the sim number so you don’t need any other mumbers etc to give them. the phone should activate from there.

I was told when there is a large order of consumers it can take that window of time. You will have to leave the phone on for the down and upload / complete activation process. It will show emergency and cancel on the screen until the procedure is complete. Enjoy the new phone.

Yes the phone should activate within that time frame most likely within a few hours. I set up a phone for my dad and it was activated in less than an hour. It may take longer since it is the weekend. If that doesn’t work you should turn the phone on and off. To find the phone number go to setting app it is the one that looks like gear. Then scroll down to About phone and the number will be listed. I wouldn’t worry about the two weeks since you will get 365 days. Hope this works. Let us know how it works out.

Sid44, I’ve never set up a tracfone where the carrier was available only Monday through Friday, so I can’t help you there. Did she have a promo package? However, the phone number should be in the phone. Usually you go to apps, prepaid, my phone number OR settings, about phone, status/my phone. Good luck.
