Vipre and Windows 10 problems

My Acer laptop downloaded Windows 10 without me clicking on it. Anyway, now I have Windows 10, and it disconnected my Vipre software and the pop up boc stated it was incompatable with Windows 10. I have a 10 computer Vipre software purchace. I thought the Vipre was good for the life of the computer! I had Windows 7 previously on my computer. Anyone have an answer? Now my Vipre won’t be any good if I upgrade my other computer? Thanks in advance.

Windows 10 will do what it wants to. Check with the software assistance number for help.

It should have updated Vipre automatatically. You may have to go into your settings for the software to adjust or reinstall.

Microsoft wants All of their computers on Windows 10. They hope to go to a containing system such as Apple and google. Virus Protection is contained in and is a part of Windows 10. …. This is what Microsoft told me.

Accordingly, Anti-Virus protection is not needed with Windows 10. Many are incompatible with Windows 10.

I’m still on Windows 8.1 . Soon I’ll probably upgrade my computers and purchase Windows 10 models. I’ve been reluctant because when I upgraded my new Windows 8 computers to Windows 8.1, both of my new computers were almost ruined. I reverted back to 8 and then to 8.1 again. They have not been functioning right.

Same problem different day. I, however did not want Windows 10 as I have it on a notebook and don’t care for it. I had to go to call Microsoft 1-800-936-5700, want tech support and have all reversed to Windows 7. Took hours but they were very nice and reversed the upgrade. As far as Vipre, too late for me to return, do not believe it is the best out there and it has blocked sites that I didn’t want blocked. Vipre, however will work with Windows 10 as far as I know (have it on my notebook). My cable company does not support Outlook and Windows 10 does not allow you to permanently delete your email. Hope I was able to help. :smileyfrustrated:

Maybe i should ask this; anyone have the Vipre help line number? I thought Vipre would be compatable with Windows 10. I bought software for 7 computers. Doesn’t it say it is good for the life of the computer??? Someone must have the answers! Thanks.

Something similar happen to one of my computers . I use the Factory Reset option . You will loose everything , unless you can backup and save . I replaced Windows 10 with my favorite 8 version .
