LG Treasure Questions

I’m playing with the phone but haven’t activted yet. I’m wondering how to transfer my contacts and photos before I actually activate the phone. Also, I don’t see the microphone to talk my texts or talk notes. Does the phone have to be activated to have this feature or isn’t it available on this model? It is important and a deal breaker if not there. I presently have the 5″ Alcatel tracfone and love it but the LG Treasure is the price of buying more minutes so figured it was a great deal. Thanks if you can help.

You have to activate before the features show.

I just received my new LG treasure. When I did the restore from backup, it transferred all my apps and everything, but did NOT transfer any contacts. Grrr. EDIT: Ok i just figured out how to transfer the contacts via Bluetooth. It was a breeze! Everything transferred in 15 seconds.

when i was in the setup somewhere in there it asks you if you want to backup the new phone and you can pick which phone etc you want to backup. if you see your alcatel phone pick that one and from there it will put whats on your alcatel into the new phone. Once you get through all the setup and are just using the phone (wifi only because it’s still not activated) you will get alot of updated to software etc. just let it do all that. I just leave the phone plugged in charging and turn the screen off by tapping the button on the back.

on my backup i selected my current verizon phone (it gave me the model on the screen which i picked)

It’s actually taking the info from your alcatel if you select that and putting it on your treasure.

OK. Did some looking and found the backup. It is checked so I am assuming all my data, etc will be easily transferable. I’m still cautious because I don’t want to spend a lot of time tinkering with the new phone!

Thanks so much RIchieRIch. I don’t like that HSN can’t email me when an answer to my post is answered. Your reply was/is very helpful. I am pretty tech savy but tha backup question threw me How do I backup my present Alcatel so that I can import into the new Treasure? I want to have all the info before I actually activate. Thanks!

i got my phone today and in the setup (which isn’t activating the phone) is asks if you want to restore from a backup. If you have a backup on another phone you can select your alcatel model and everything that is in that backup will go on your new treasure. i.e. apps. contacts etc. You can’t text till you activate it but on the keyboard there is a little gear wheel by the left end of the space bar. hold that down and you can select the microphone. after you see it you can talk to text or whatever you are using the keyboard for.
