Drone FAA requirements
The FAA today released regulations regarding the use of drones in the USA. In reality this effects all drones, radio controlled airplanes etc that weigh in excess of 250 grams. You should read for yourself, do a search for drone regulations or similar. HSN will not let me paste the link to the actual regs. If you are getting or giving one for Christmas, this effects you. Take it seriously.

where do you go to regester it

Am sure in the near future one of those christmas present drones will cause a horrible accident resulting in loss of life. There has already been over 190 near misses with aircraft and the tip of someones nose taken off by a drone..Then the drone owner or parents of a minor drone operator can and will be be sued for everything they have. I wouldnt think it would be worth it to be sued. I dont like the fact they have a camera on them. We all know there will be those who invade the privacy and property of others. I live out in the woods and if I see one and it hits me or is filming me sorry it is coming down as there is no reason for it to be here. I see bad things coming of this by some who will spoil it for the responsible operators. Is alot of money to spend for a gift really. Makes me think alittle about flying until they get a handle on rogue drones LOL

I think it is a good idea. Have heard of so many stories on the news about drones interferring with helicopters.
I am on the fence about drones. One hand it is a cool idea for some aspects but on the other hand there are people who would do bad things with them.

Yes, that is all true. Plus the five dollar fee is waived for the first 30 days. The number you would be given must be displayed on the device. Obviously to allow tracking to the operator in case of a problem.

According to what I heard on the news, it will be simple on line registration and only a $5.00 fee. But if you don’t register, it will be a federal offense.
They feel they can reach more people online with the safety and laws of drone use.
Oh and to register you must be at least 13.
But yes anyone who will have a drone or give a drone as a gift should read this. Just do a search or watch your local news, I’m sure they will have info on it.
