WON’T BE ABLE TO SEE MY FAMILY FOR CHRISTMAS
For the first time in many years, my entire extended family are all going to be in the same place at the same time. They’re coming from FL, NV, CA, KY, GA and several places from here in MI. I’ve been so excited I could hardly sleep.
Twenty-four hours ago, I had a bad fall on the ice. I fell backward & hit my head on the cement step. From what the Dr assessed, I was unconscious about 20-30 minutes. The ambulance people were great. At first I didn’t know what was happening as the pain was (and still is) excruciating. I received 37 staples on the back of my head. Of course. part of my head had to be shaved. There are several fractures in my left arm & I have a concussion. I’ll need to have surgery on my left arm. However, the Dr put a rigid temporary splint on it. This goes from my left wrist up to my shoulder.
Before surgery can take place the swelling needs to be reduced. I have an appointment with the orthopedic surgeon December 27 th. I won’t know any more until I see him. In the mean time, my heart feels shattered at not being able to spend Christmas with my family.
Thank you for listening. Please know that I wIsh all of you the very best of this holiday season. Enjoy one another, laugh, catch up on family news…and take many photos. Express your love to one another (if genuine) verbally. This, often, is the greatest gift of all.:heart::heart:

How did the appointment with the surgeon go L4P?

A set back…and a load of stress. There is a 5″ opening (NOT real deep) at surgical site. This should NOT have happened. I’ve no clue what’s going on but do have appt w/surgeon in the morning. I’m just glad it didn’t open up any farther. Am I a bit frightened? Yep.

Dear Lady – it was such a relief to hear from you! I am sorry about the chronic pain and hope you will find some relief soon. It will take lots of time to heal but you will get better – I promise. Things may not ever be as they were but you will find ways to compensate for that. Talk to your doctors about the pain and discomfort and see what they can recommend for you. Sleep is a vital part of the healing process and they should understand that. Sending you prayers of comfort and healing…….

I’ll be at the University of Mi Med Hospital on Tues. I won’t know if I’ll need to stay until some tests are completed. This was not something I was expecting. I sincerely thank all you ladies for the well wishes and above all prayer support. I’m trusting things will turn out well, yet, right now, with pain not controlled and knowing there are complications…it’s a bit scary. However, I’ve been through much (as so many of you have). Your support is an enormous encouragement and sorely needed.:heart::heart:

Good morning Lady!:womanhappy: Sending soft angel hugs and healing prayers your way.
