HELP! Pluggable Heart Warmer

Hi ya’ll! I recently received my Forever Fragrant Pluggable Heart Warmer by Joy Mangano. I noticed the bottom plug (where it would ground in an outlet) is plastic. There is a screw holding it in place. I’ve never seen a plug with a plastic ground. Is this piece suppose to come off? Because I’ve tried, I can’t get it to come off, and I don’t want to break it! I’m just not sure about putting plastic in an outlet?!

I called HSN Customer Service and was told plastic comes off. Two different people said it comes off. No it doesn’t. Thank God for Google

, leave it on, it’s supposed to be there. It’s not a ground. It helps to support the warmer so it won’t slip out of the outlet. It’s OK that it’s plastic, just like those plastic outlet safety covers.
