HSN please give us "ignore" function
Dear HSN, can we have PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE the ability to ignore posters, posts and threads?Just imagine all the pluses: less squabble; less complaints to you; more peace of mind.
PLEEEEEEEEEEASE

I actually like the ignore button. Everyone’s entitled to their opinions, and sometimes you just don’t want to scroll down through the endless prattle of certain people who bring up the same things over and over again, an example would be the Shannon complaints. I belong to a couple of forums and they have an ignore button which is great, those that don’t want to see certain people’s posts don’t have to see them on their screen and those that love them get to see them. I am only interested in reading what people feel about the products that they have purchased, and not interested in scrolling down through endless comments about whether someone is wearing filler, had a facelift, is too shrill, too short, has lopsided eyebrows and then the LOL responses and the ones defending. I don’t read many posts, but they are still there to scroll.

I am not at all being rude or sarcastic so please do not take my post at all in that way. There does not need to be an ignore button. Just don’t read the topics or threads or posts. When I find that the “community” gets overwhelmed with some “nasties” and sarcastic people, which there are everywhere I just take a break away from the forums for awhile. Sooner or later the forum does take a turn and the “nasties” get tired and end up leaving the forum. I have seen it happen several times in the past couple of years. I haven’t been on for awhile as I have been ill but I have been reading the past couple of days and I see a lot of wonderful threads & posts now. A couple years ago it got really nasty on here and then poof it went away. It is so easy for people to hide behind their computers and write nasty stuff to make themselves feel better if they are miserable.
Happy Labor Day to everyone! 🙂

massha, the problem with any form of social media is that some people hide behind it, they write things they would normally never speak to someones face as it is easier to write something mean or thoughtless. I am not sure about complaints to HSN. I have complained about shipping being slow and feel like constructive criticism helps HSN make improvements to serve all of us. HSN isn’t facebook, you can’t hide posts or people. I myself have taken a breaK from social media, no FB, no tweets, no instagram. I only come on here because I feel like we are all friends and appreciate you all.

I have no idea if cyber-bullying is taking place at HSN. I don’t have my private messaging on (don’t need it) and I don’t know a soul here. LOL.
I’m glad you all are having a discussion about it. Let’s be clear: I did NOT say I was cyber-bullied. I was thinking of some of the “good” that could come with a ignore button.

I enjoy reading all posts. Knowledge and different opinions are good and open the mind to thought.
If there is just a thread of something someone says that is new to me I appreciate it and learn from it. That’s why I’m here.:smileyhappy:
How boring would it be if everyone nodded and agreed with everything you say?:smileysad:

I just feel we are all adults here and we shouldn’t need an ignore button….if something doesn’t interest you, or if you can’t agree to disagree, it’s just so easy to move on……..
What I would like to see is – pick one random person a day and just say something nice 🙂

Am I the only one that is having problems with posts just “poofing” away today. I wrote this once and it’s now gone. I’ll try again.
There are unfortunately people that I think have nothing better to do than watch the posts and are ready to “pounce” on anything they find remotely disagreeable. They come out of hiding with a vengeance – they have nothing credible to say – they only want to inflame you whether it is on the forum or through PM.
I think the Mods really need to read entire threads to understand an entire conversation because it seems to me that people that get banned for making a comment to one of these people which I call nothing short of bullies are the only ones getting reprimanded. The “bullies” rights aren’t taken away because you still see them popping up with their bullying tactics on yet another innocent poster.
I think it should be the Mods job to stop ignoring these “bullies” and put them on permanent ban!

? Ru asking what cyber stalking is and if it goes on here?
-
I know this is an old thread but it has recent posts so……
I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE and “ignore button.” Puhhhlease, HSN. Consider it the next time you do a revamp.
An ignore button would help eliminate cyber-stalking.

That is indeed your right and your opinion. A thread is a thread and I have no issue with any of them.
Much of the online communities are filled with people who don’t know how to talk to people and respectfully agree to disagree and that comes through big time in what they write. That is my issue. I post and comment on one other site besides this one and that is enough for me.
My 29 year old son, bless his heart, told me a while back how it can be online with comments and post. He was absolutely correct. He keeps his FB and Tweeter private and will remove someone if need be, which is rare. It’s not about not being able to “handle it” it’s about choice. With children age 36 and 29, a husband of 36 years and God, I’m capable of handling anything.
I choose face to face (individual or group), phone or even text conversations much, much better. Maybe it’s the facilitator and teacher in me or maybe it’s just the respect I have for people and their feelings. I like life that way.

Personally I don’t use an ignore function.I want to see what people have to say even if they disagree with me and even if I don’t care much for their opinion. When I click a thread and I don’t like the content or have no interest I simply don’t click it again.
I haven’t seen anything on here that I consider so heavy that I can’t handle it.Maybe its because I go to other forums where there is no moderators and you are on your own dealing with people.I like it that way because I like to know what people really think rather than be PC as not to offend.I don’t take everything as personal and never will when it comes to online people and comments.
If I do cross the line or post something that is incorrect I also know how to apologize.I just don’t see the big issue..If something or someone offends me I am capable of ignoring it/them without a little button to click.

Where, where, where is this feature. I’m almost certain I saw this function the other day when in the community. I didn’t use it but now I’m looking to use it but can’t find the feature to do so. :smileyfrustrated:
HSN’s management/moderator’s are no help as they don’t answer emails. What’s up with that? But they are quick to remove a post. I don’t take kindly to rude, mean and nasty people.
Allow us the same function as the other social media sites to just not see or hear from an individual. Makes things a lot nicer.
Love YouTube’s block feature. They will never see you and you will never see them ever again. I LOVE that. :smileyvery-happy:

Massha I totally agree with you and all else. I have been guilty….got all caught-up in the moment and became ugly. Once I typed a response to a post, I became sassy with words about someone…the moderator’s reprimanded me. How I felt so low, felt so bad about myself. They were right. I took it too far. When that happen it made me a better person….."think before I type." But some can get grumpy….and down right mean. If we had the "Ignore button" like your asking…..no one would know. We should keep it clean and fun. Hopefully this year will be better for all. Let’s work together, not against each other.
*****by the way Craycraycatty….love your avatar the little Miss Cat. Oh my how sooo cute is that. She looks like Audrey Hepburn….lol.
