Joy Mangano

I have a deep respect for Joy Mangano.  I enjoyed the movie, “Joy.”  I know that Hollywood embellishes as someone pointed out, but Joy was a consultant on the show.  I’m sure she had a lot of input.

I personally like Joy Mangano and admire her for breaking ground into the business world when it was typically impossible for a woman to be taken seriously. Many people misjudge her larger than life personality as being, “to fakey or over the top”, but that’s just her personality. Very much like Joan Rivers who was a sweetheart, but people either loved her or hated her due to her bravado and non-apologetic demeanor. 

It takes a strong Woman to endure and believe in herself and Joy certainly does! Sure not everyone will like her or her products, but why do people find it necessary to belittle and criticize her! I have seen threads before, where people go out of their way too smear her products and even get others ” riled” up for the sake of damaging her reputation. We won’t always like people, but certainly doesn’t make it right to just bad mouth someone. 

Joy and her products have been around for a long time and will continue to be! Her investing or buying into HSN is a great accomplishment, not sure why that would bother anyone…:womanwink::womantongue:

One more point about Joy. It’s tough getting through all the struggles in any business. You gotta work your fanny off to make the sale so give her a break.

I’m sorry but after watching the movie Joy I fell in love with Joy Mango. She reminded me so much of my lovely wife who passed away 3 1/2 years ago. Watching the movie brought tears to my eyes watching the strugles, ups and downs and her strong family values. We both had a major deal with HSN in 1994 but Barry Dillar was just begining to take over HSN and that cancelled our deal. It’s OK because we had other successes later on But watching the story hit home so much I couldn’t help but fall in love with her.. Hope the very very best for Joy and all her family 

Joy Mangano is an IMMEDIATE click to another channel for me.

I refuse to watch her antics, listen to her spiel, or buy her products; and wouldn’t watch the movie about her no matter how many big names were associated with it.  Annoying and overbearing doesn’t even come close to describing her, but those are the gentlest terms I can muster.

She elicits a NEGATIVE response in me.  🙂

Joy does not need anyone to blow her trumpet. She does it all by herself.I stopped liking her and her products after I purchased her *little steamer* that expands and renders it impossible to unscrew. I had to bang it on the edge of my kitchen countertop to pry it apart. Needless to say, it eventually cracked and had to be discarded. The cord snapped back and hit me on my face which remained black and blue for close to a week.

As for disliking her — it goes back to her vacation to St. Barts. It was all she bragged about upon her return during her show. She was selling a copy of a prestige brand of luggage she saw people using. Several times during the show she urged everyone to vacation at St. Barts, as if some of us can afford going there. She also mentioned that she could purchase several sets of her luggage which does not come close to the price of the shoes she was wearing. I’ve also heard her state the same about the cost of her dresses in comparison to whatever item she was selling at the time. Joy’s’, braggadocio personified.  

her umbrella doesn’t work, as the fragrance sticks also don’t work. The hangers I do love. That’s it.

As with so many of us cost is an issue.  Andrew once said take 3 of G and C.  I take 3 and it seems to work well.  AL had a special with G and C & Circulation and Vein Support.   My evidence is I’m back doing 1/2 Marathons.  Of course I got my Oropedic and Cardiologist’s okay before I started.

Its not uncommon for AL to give economical tips on his products.  For example He once said alternate cruciferous extracts with fruitful extracts if finances are an issue.

I started taking the G and C in April (?) my shoulders started bothering me just over a year ago…and while my primary continues to ignore me, I will say I have mixed bag results…but now I’m afraid to stop taking it in case it is indeed helping. Am also taking the Omega 3s, Turmeric and Ginger. While my shoulders (left is the worst) are on and off, joint discomfort in my hands seems much less.

There are some days that are better than others (typical)…on those bad days, I finally have to take some ibuprofen and slap on a Salonpas.

The 5 pills per day IS a huge burden and I would like to see that changed.

I started with AL Glucosamine and Chondroitin many years ago after several orthopedic surgeries. After re-ordering large bottles a couple of times, Colleen was on with Andrew and mentioned she took another product (Max Joint Effort) for back issues from a diving accident. I have been an athlete my whole life and still am. I ordered Max Joint Effort on autoship ~ item 954-704 and am very glad I did. Not only is it more cost effective but It seems to work better. Every once in a while Andrew talks about Max Joint and he even states that it is more cost effective. Give it a try!

OMG!! I’ve been been saying that for years! She is totally annoying! She won’t shut up. She out talks the host 9 to 1. I wish she’d take a break breaking let her products be on without her.

What is so irritating about joy is that she never shuts her mouth. She over talks the host with stupid comments like "oh my gosh" and "exactly".

LOL – I have her hangers and they are actually holding up. But oh my gosh – how many times do we hear her say that? Drives me nuts. And I have to wonder about her accent these days – is it real or her schtick? Although I think all of her is schtick. Wonder what kind of tanning stuff she uses? Last time I saw her she glowed a very unnatural orange.

Most of the hangers that I bought of Joy’s have broken. They are very poor quality. I now buy them at Walmart and they are so much sturdier.
