I think most of us would rather not worry about cancer than have bulletproof luggage…
I saw on some reviews of Joy’s Tufftech items that there was a Prop. 65 warning (product contains chemicals known to California as carcinogens), but so far I haven’t noticed whether the wallet I bought in the Tufftech material has one. Does anyone know? It does contain 7 percent aramid, which is the bulletproofing material supposedly linked to cancer (though one study I saw indicated the risk is so small as to be irrelevant — if that’s so, why the Prop. 65 warning?).
Regardless of whether the wallet itself is a cancer risk, Joy should stop selling products that have known carcinogens in them, especially if it’s only because she wants to brag about them being bulletproof. Why do we need bulletproof luggage? Just use a different fabric. But then she couldn’t make those extraordinary claims (all while ignoring the cancer thing, of course).
I like Joy and her products, but I’m pretty ticked about this. I normally don’t return things I’ve already used (even though HSN lets you) as I feel it’s a shame, but I think I might have to if I’ll subconsciously get a pang of cancer fear every time I use my wallet.
