Confused – VIP financing
On February 14 I purchased a Dell 17.3" laptop @$549. Though there was the flex pay option, I still didn’t want to deplete my remaining credit so I decided not to make the purchase at that time. But I was swayed when the host explained VIP financing — the total would be billed at 12 payments over the course of the 12 month period. Yeah I could purchase the computer without maxing out my account. When I received my March bill the entire purchase appeared. I contacted HSN to find out what may have happened and it was explained that yes the entire amount should have been charged but there would be no finance charge if it was paid off in 12 months. I was satisfied with that explanation until today while watching HSN2 and there was a Vizio 39" tv being sold. Guy explained that VIP financing – 12 equal montly payments – would be charged to the HSN card. I’m confused; why are the hosts making us think we will be billed 12 payments if we qualify for VIP financing but then get charged the entire amount in the next billing cycle. Because I had given away my previous computer the option of returning the Dell was not an option. How does VIP financing work, really.

I panicked when I seen my card balance!! I to thought it would be billed over a 12 month period, but now I know! !

Thank you for the reply BUT that I am sure I am not the first person who has made a VIP purchase thinking it would be stretched out over a 12 month period. For future reference to save your customers the confusion your hosts should be quite clear when explaining the difference bewteen VIP financing and flex pays, when offered. Because the entire amount was charged to my card, its maxed out, which I had not intention of doing.

Hi , I’m sorry for the confusion. Yes, the entire amount is charged to your HSN card when the VIP Financing option is chosen, however, it does not have to paid in full for 12 months. Click here for a thorough explanation on this feature.
