Has anyone figured out yet how to get the funky chemical smell out of the Diane Gilman TSV jeans??? I bought the black ones.

I must be (fortunately, it seems!) “nose blind’ because I own 4 pairs and have purchased 3 pairs for my sister and have never noticed an odor. Now I’m afraid I’m going to be offending everyone in my vicinity! 🙂

I had purchased storage items from jm same horriffic odor. I spoke to customer service and learned due to laws in California, they couldnt be shipped there. Wonder if it is the same with dg jeans? After years of stinky ill fitting I stopped buying them, but saw the embroidery-got sucked in. All 4 are going back, but had to put them in garage, as in the house my nose & throat burned. Evine posts the california law right on site, even on some clothing. Perhaps we could all ask hsn do it instead of just telling people items cant be shipped to Cal. when they order.

The embroidered vintage jeans smell like petroleum. After I washed them, the stink got worse.
Same with a jean jacket.
Got sage skinny jeans. These have whole new and exciting stench.
These chemicals are dangerous. The sage jeans made me physically ill.
I feel a class action lawsuit coming on.

The first thing to do is call HSN and complain! I did not want to return the jeans cause I like them. They gave me a $5.00 credit. Enough $5.00 credit Dianne will have to address this issue. Her story that her jeans don’t fade may be true but the stench is just awful! I got rid of the smell by soaking my jeans for “5” days in my bathroom sink(small vessel for saturation) in downy fabric softner. I filled up the sink with water and each day I poured more fabric softner and continued the soak. I then ran them through my washing maching using again fabric softner instead of detergent and additinal fabric softner in the fabric softner receptical. IT WORKED! Dianne should buy each of us a bottle of fanric softner or send it in the box with the jeans. Please pass this along she sells over 50,000 pairs of each style she sells. To not address this on air is criminal. She makes great jeans but they stink!

The odor will never go away.
I bought a pair of black a few years ago I put them in the draw with other jeans and the smell transferred to the others. I washed them many many times, the smell never left.

Most clothing lines, especially made in China are loaded w/ toxic and often cancer causing dyes.
Please do some research on this so you can make informed fashion choices.

There’s no way I would spend the time and effort trying to get the smell out of those cheap stinky pants. My priority was just getting the smell out of my house :womantongue:. I’ve had other DG2 items with a slight odor, but this was way beyond anything I have experienced before. I had to open a window and air my bedroom out to get rid of the smell.
I am not willing to expose my home, my family and my pets to these mystery chemicals. I have a closet full of great DG2 clothes, but I am not sure I will order again. If I do, anything that smells bad will be returned immediately.

I also had the same problem! I aired them outside for a couple of days then washed them separately three times (with a second rinse on each pair). Then I partially dried them in the dryer and hung them outside, again, to finish drying. That was the only way I could get rid of the chemical/funky smell. I won’t order them again.:womansad:

I did get that smell also wih the comfort waist black ankle jeans however I do like the fit! Is it safe to wear with that smell?

I made a post about the chemical, gasoline odor the other day on the denim tone. I Called HSN today
and asked how they could sell such a product. ( told them this is nothing new and has been going on for years – that is why I stopped purchasing). I asked for my return to include the shipping cost both ways and received it thankfully. By the way, these did fit nicely. I kept the beige – no odor.
If the "voice" is loud enough it might just be heard. Enough said.

I quit buying from DG a couple of years ago, due to sizing issues and quality. I’ve been buying from her for years..it seems she’s just interested in how many she sells now!
-
I also find the DG2 black jeans
have a " gasoline type" odor — have washed multiple times with no resolution to the problem- I have tried to purchase more than once but never will again!
Diane please address this problem–have not had this problem with any other black jean from HSN Or ANYWHERE else!
SOMETHING IS WRONG!

Diane Gilman……
Just received her super stretch collarless jacket…..TERRIBLE SIZING AND COLOR DOES NOT MATCH SAME PANT ……I’m a size 10…the SMALL is HUGE……I can’t believe it again….
Sending it back and I’m not ordering the xs….rediculous…but cute style. I wonder where her items are made….WHERE IS QUALITY CONTROL FOR DIANE GILMAN??????
I HATE SENDING THINGS BACK!!!! IT’S A TRIP. AGI, N.Y.

I received the green, very little smell , and the midtone denim. I am sending, with no fee, the midtone back for credit. This is a new smell to me. I would say it is a combo of chlorox and dishwasher detergent! It does not wash out and is overpowering. I laughed wondering how the models handled the smell on Tv. I guess I will just enjoy all the older jeans I have loved over the years.

A couple of years ago I purchased a pair of her jeans. What an awful stink those things had! Although, the smell wasn’t a chemical one. The jeans smelled as if they’d been sitting in a dirty, old, musty hamper for a year. I didn’t return them because I thought the smell would wash right out. WRONG! After four washings, the smell was still there. I was so disappointed with the product, and angry about the wasted money. I wore them once or twice to wash my car, and then deposited them into the trash can.
