"CAUTION FOR TEETER INVERTION USERS"
I just recieved my “Teeter” and bummer I have to send it back before I can use it. I found out it not good for people with high bloodpressure, heart problems or glaucoma. I wished this had been brought out during the show. I was hoping this would help with my lower back and shoulder problems. I hope the show’s producer take this into consideration for the next broadcast of this product.

Thank you florida3216 for suggesting asking the doctor re items I can use but it seems they wouldn’t know without a full workup…etc…which would be long and drawn out.
But just to be clear I wasn’t just speaking of a topical item put onto the skin…I have ordered a couple of machine type products that warn not to use them if you have have cancer which would have been nice to know prior to ordering and that info is available only it seems to the vendor who has access to the product.
It would be beneficial to consumers as well as HSN for them to disclose to save us all time and money and possible negative situation.
But I do agree if a doctor could know as you suggested, it would be great. Nowdays they all seem to be in a hurry and ready to write rx based upon what their vendors have promoted to them.
I am very conscious of my own health as too many times doctors prescribe things harmful to me and the druggist and I have caught them. Yes, it does pay to partner fully in our healthcare.
Again, thank you.

I echo your concern. I ordered one for hubby when they were first offered at HSN. Hubby put it together but I read the fine print. When we checked with our physician we were told to return it. One would think this information would at least be made available on line in the description. It was a job breaking it down, stuffing it into the original packaging and lugging it to UPS.

I had surgery on my lumbar spine 3 years ago. It was supposed to be a simple lumbar fusion of the L5 to S1. However, when my surgeon opened me up, he found several surprises that were not clear on my Xrays or MRIs. He spent a full hour just removing scar tissue only to find that the facet joints of my lumbar spine were not formed correctly from birth. So instead of working as they should and pulling my spine together as I moved they fought against each other and shattered into little pieces. I was 49 at the time of the surgery so there was no way for him to save anything, so he had to remove the facet joints. So now my whole lumbar spine is fused. He also found out that I have a form of spina bifida as my sacrum never closed so those nerves were always exposed.
Now I understand all the back pain I had since my early teens. My doctor said he can’t understand how I ever walked and how it wasn’t caught when I was young. My spine was actually in the shape of a C instead of an S. He had never seen anything like that before. I have several other problems caused because of this, but I wanted to explain the above to tell you how my physical therepist has me stretch out that area and releive the pain.
It requires a wedge pillow (I got mine at Wal-Mart) and two regular pillows. Place the wedge pillow on the bed with the wide part facing the top of the bed with the two pillows on top. Place this about halfway down the bed. Lay on the bed, on your back and place your legs on the pillows. You will look almost like you are sitting on a chair only your are in bed. If you have a heating pad that you like to use, you can place that under your lower back when you do this. Lay like this for at least 20 minutes. You need to totally relax. As you do you will feel everthing starting to stretch out. If you can find time to take a nap in that position you will find that when you wake up your back will feel much better.
I actually sleep in this position all the time now. When we first started this my body was so messed up my right side was tighter than my left. It took a year to get it stretched out enough so that my right side didn’t hurt when I got up every morning. I wanted a Teeter. I asked her about it. She gave me an emphatic NO! She said it would mess me up more than I already was. So I guess I have to join the club that says even though it looks and sounds good, sometimes they have to give disclaimers, because there can be very bad consequences if people don’t read the small print in the box.

These inverters have fascinated me for years. I have been tempted a few times since I have a desk job and need to stretch out. You might be surprised but I lay on a hard floor in my bedroom to stretch my back out sometimes. It works well but inverting seems like it would be more effective.

That is true, If your problems are not real serious , maybe checking with your Dr first might be helpful. They list these things to avoid lawsuits, get you coming and going, lol. But I know what you mean, we bought one and my son has HB. You can control how much you “teeter”.
-
Personally I think it’s best to do your homework and discuss it with your physician before you purchase any of these products if you have health issues There is a lot of positive health effects using the inversion method for those who can:womanhappy:

I’ve been saying this same thing relative to some skin care items that were not to be used by certain people with certain conditions such as skin cancer.
I’ve had to return items after I read instructions and disclosures that are only provided inside the opened unit.
In real estate being upfront and honest is called ‘disclosure’ and backed up by laws in certain states and my personal opinion is that disclosures should be made by vendors in presentations which would serve the potential buyer as well as the vendors product.
This would alleviate any harm to a buyer, returns to HSN affecting their bottom line and reputation as well as potential litigation to product for lack of disclosure.
It would be a positive service to the viewers if HSN could institute a ‘disclosure banner of some sort’ to scroll across the bottom of the screen or better yet if the vendor could also issue the disclosure in the presentation.
I know I would appreciate it.

I have an earlier version of the Teeter Invertion which I purchased from HSN. I have glaucoma, high blood pressure and had a cerebral hemorrhage (stroke) in 2009. No problem using the table.
-
Thanks for the info. I still want a Teeter. It would really help my tension headaches. I find my own ways to hang upside down wo one, but I’m not getting the best results.
This is in the product description:
Caution: Consult your physician before beginning this or any weight loss or exercise program.

I had one of these several years ago. I too, thought it would help my back.
I had it near my bed, and used it carefully, but when I turned upside down, I got so so dizzy and I struggled to get up and layed on the bed. Being dizzy lasted 8 days. It really scared me and it’s especially dangerous to use when you live alone. I got rid of it to someone that was familar with it and wanted it.
I’ve said this before, vendors should say in their presentations that people with certain conditions should not buy their product. I’ve returned several items that I should not have bought after I learned by reading the instructions. It would save me money and/or HSN, if I didn’t have to send items back.

this is a suicide machine. i’ve heard stories of people getting strokes from this thing. no way. no how. caveat emptor to the infinitismal degree!!!! stay away. save a life. xoxo

Welcome to the community boards.. You have brought up some very good points. I have noticed that this is happening to several products, that should have warnings. This one and the other I read the reviews on was a natural pet cleaner. The reviewer stated on the bottle after receiving it, it said ‘it can be harmful for cats’. After she did some research she found out, it could be DEADLY to cats. I think any precautions like what you brought up and other products should be indicated. Also, if they are not going to put that on the product info, and also say it while they are promoting the item then shipping and handling should be on HSN.
That’s my opinion. Maybe, someone would read this and do something… Who knows…
Thank You again

Welcome Harpplayer21. You bring up a very good point and I agree with you completely. My husband uses a tilt table but I cannot use it because I have blood pressure issues. I have a situation with intermitant low blood pressure and I pass out. This would be devasting if this happened while being upside down on that table. I assume it would be just as devasting to someone with high blood pressure, and the other medical items you sited
This table is great for some people but there are some disc issues that this table can make worse. We asked my husband’s back Dr. before we purchased one. All of these issues should be explained during the presentation as well. It is a great product for some people but it comes with some rather serious risks for others.
The problems you sited are not anything abnormal to this product and they absolutely should be told during any presentation.
I am suggesting you contact Customer Service and request free return shipping based upon the fact that you have medical issues preventing you from using this table which were not brought up during the presentation.
Good luck to you and again – welcome to The Community!!!

? Thanks for this post. That is something that really should be mentioned in the presentation. It would save a lot of trouble…Good Job!!! and welcome to the community….
