Gazelle vs. Slimstrider
So, I’m looking into purchasing an inexpensive in home exercise unit to help with my new weightloss journey. I have limited room, so ideally I’d like something that folds up for storage. Currently between working fulltime at one job, parttime at another and doing online classes it’s been hard to keep up with a regular gym regimen which is why I’m trying to stick to something at home. I’d also like to stick to cardio machines as of right now, only because I do have access to some free weights to do more weight training.
After browsing around on here, I’ve found two systems that I thought looked decent enough but I’d love some feedback to help me make up my decision. I was looking at were the Tony Little Gazelle Power Plus and the Brenda Dygraf Slimstrider 360 Exercise System. They both peaked my interest in how they are different from the typical treadmill or elliptical.
Would either of these be helpful in getting back into exercise and to jumpstart some weight loss? I’m no where close to really needing to focus on toning. To put things in perspective I’m 5’4" and roughly 235 lbs.

I started using Brenda Dygraf’s slimstrider on January 2nd along with a very low carb eating program. I was motivated by appearance and by wanting to ease the pain on my arthritic knees. When I started, I weighed 237 lbs (5’7") and had to force myself to use the machine for 20 minutes. I have lost 25 pounds in two months and now use the machine 5 days/week for 60 minutes. I have owned a gazelle in the past and I prefer the slimstrider. My problem areas are really below the waist and I think the slimstrider focuses more on those muscle groups. If you are seeking the upper body exercise of the gazelle (you have to hold onto the handles and push them back and forth) you may like it better. I don’t. I have already purchased a slimstrider for both my brother and my sister. P.S. My knees feel so much better already!
